Brandon Coleman | Free Agent WR

Brandon Coleman catches two passes for 13 yards in Week 1.

The big 6’6″ receiver also had an opportunity on a low pass in the end zone from Drew Brees but couldn’t pull it in. Coleman is a dynasty hold, but he’s not a great fantasy option in re-draft leagues right now.

Drew Brees | Retired QB

Vikings limit Drew Brees and the Saints in Week 1.

Minnesota’s defense played lights out against New Orleans, completely shutting down the running game and allowing only nine points until the fourth quarter. Brees was 27/37 for 291 yards and a touchdown in the game. There’s a potential shootout on the horizon in Week 2 against New England, but the Pats do have an extra few days to prepare. Nevertheless, Brees is a strong QB1 every week—especially when he’s in the Superdome, which he will be against the Patriots.

Dalvin Cook | Free Agent RB

Dalvin Cook breaks one of Adrian Peterson’s records in his first game.

The rookie running back from Florida State had 22 carries for 127 yards, while adding three receptions for ten yards. The 127 yards broke Adrian Peterson’s previous record for rushing yards (107) by a Vikings rookie in his first game. Cook was the clear lead back tonight, as Jerick McKinnon was second with three carries behind him. The second-rounder showed his great acceleration and ability to move forward after contact against New Orleans. He has a more difficult matchup in Week 2 against the Steelers, but Cook should still be an RB1.

9/11/17 - 10:11 PM ET

Keenan Allen | Bears WR

Keenan Allen scores against the Broncos in Week 1.

Allen, as he has all preseason, looked 100% after tearing his ACL in Week 1 last season. The young receiver had five receptions for 35 yards and a touchdown against Denver’s tough pass defense. The touchdown came in the fourth quarter on a slant route where it appeared he beat Chris Harris and Rivers hit him for six. In an easier matchup next Sunday against the Dolphins, Allen will be a good WR1/WR2 option.

9/12/17 - 01:26 AM ET

Laquon Treadwell | Colts WR

Laquon Treadwell catches pass in Week 1.

The second-year receiver had a seven-yard reception on a curl route late in the game, and it matches the 2016 first-rounders catch total from his rookie year. Treadwell isn’t a reliable weekly option right now, but he’s a strong hold in dynasty leagues as a “diamond in the rough,” as Jon Gruden called him on the Monday Night Football broadcast.

9/11/17 - 11:50 PM ET

Sam Bradford | Free Agent QB

Sam Bradford lights up the Saints in Vikings’ Week 1 win.

Bradford was kept clean by the Vikings offensive line and showed his truly elite ability and accuracy. He carved up the Saints defense, going 27/32 for 346 yards and three touchdowns. The completion percentage is unbelievable, but a lot of it was on downfield shots and it also included a few drops. Bradford simply could not have played any better tonight, as the Vikings are off to a great start in 2017. After a full offseason, Bradford is comfortable in Pat Shurmur’s offense and looks locked in. This was against the Saints, who struggled and had some break downs in coverage, but if he gets protection Bradford has a chance to put up QB1 numbers in 2017.

9/11/17 - 10:08 PM ET

Jarius Wright | Free Agent WR

Jairus Wright catches 21-yard pass in Week 1.

The 21-yard reception was one of a handful of 20+ yard pass plays for the Vikings against the Saints, but it was Wright’s only reception in the game. He’ll be more of a contributor to the Vikings in real life than fantasy, as being the fourth receiver won’t be enough for him to deliver fantasy value.
