Join now >Derek Carr helps lead the Raiders to Week 1 win over the Titans.
Carr looked great, going 22/32 for 262 yards and two touchdowns. The first touchdown was on a nine-yard slant to Amari Cooper, who did most of the work when he broke a couple tackles and was pushed to the end zone by his teammates. Carr’s second touchdown, to Seth Roberts, helped separate the Raiders in the fourth quarter. The Raiders play the Jets in Week 2, and Carr will be a solid QB1.

The Broncos are signing RB Jonathan Williams to their practice squad, according to Ian Rapoport.
Williams is reportedly getting a $510,000 salary to join the Broncos. It’s quite the salary, which could mean there were a lot of teams interested in bringing him on their practice squad. After he was a surprise cut by the Bills, Williams will see if he can get an opportunity in Denver to get back on an active roster. He’s OK as a bench stash in dynasty leagues if you’re looking for guys to roster.

David Johnson rushed 11 times for 23 yards and caught six passes for 68 yards before leaving Sunday’s game with a wrist injury.
As our news indicated yesterday, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported that Johnson will have an MRI today to determine the extent of his injury. We’ll keep you updated, but fantasy owners should hold their breath and hope he will get some good news.

Deshaun Watson starts second half of Week 1 game for the Jaguars.
Tom Savage didn’t play terrible in the first half, but he lost two fumbles and Bill O’Brien likely knows the team needs a spark after getting shutout, 19-0, in the first half. The Texans gave up six sacks in the first half, so this benching wasn’t really on Savage. That said, the all-time college football great has a chance to seize the starting job for Houston here.

Carson Palmer tosses three interceptions in Week 1 loss to the Lions.
Palmer was 27/48 for 269 yards, one touchdown, and the three picks. It was a worrisome performance, and one that made you wonder whether he would get benched during the game. It was only one week, so hopefully Palmer can take advantage of his easy schedule. He gets the Colts next in perhaps the best spot possible to enjoy a bounce back.

Multiple reports: The Bills placed T.J. Yates on IR.
Yates is reportedly still in concussion protocol and could be brought back after eight weeks as one of the team’s designated to return players. Rookie Nathan Peterman had won the backup job behind Tyrod Taylor during the preseason anyway, though.

Kenny Britt held to one catch in Browns debut.
It went for 13 yards. Britt was a big-time signing in the offseason, but Corey Coleman is the clear #1 receiver for the team, leaving little room for a soon-to-be-29-year-old Britt to make an impact on an offense led by an unpolished rookie. He should remain on the bench or on the waiver wire next week against Baltimore.
