Josh McCown finishes 6/8 in Jets’ final preseason game.

McCown played a couple series versus the Eagles, including getting hurt and re-entering the game after missing one play. The veteran quarterback looked ready for the regular season, but it’s be a surprise if he became a consistent fantasy option on a sub-par Jets team. The Jets play the Bills in Week 1 a week from Sunday.

John Ross leaves Bengals’ fourth preseason game with a knee injury.

It doesn’t appear overly serious, but Ross headed to the locker room and has been ruled questionable to return. Ross had one carry on a reverse that he took for 25 yards and he had one receptions for six yards. He could always re-enter the game, but the Bengals might just decide to hold their first-round pick out to keep him healthy for the regular seasons.

Marquise Goodwin catches long touchdown in Week 3 of the preseason.

On the 49ers’ first drive of the game, Goodwin ran through a zone defense and caught a 46-yard bomb from Brian Hoyer. It was Goodwin’s only catch of the day, but he could be doing a lot of that this season. As a number two receiver with huge big play ability and speed, Goodwin could do a lot better than expected this season (he’s currently outside of the top 300 players being drafted in fantasy leagues).

UPDATE: Josh McCown returns to fourth preseason game.

McCown took a big hit from Eagles linebacker Joe Walker and left the field, but he came back after one play. He’ll likely finish this drive and get out of the game so he’s healthy for Week 1.

Pierre Garcon grabs six passes in the 49ers’ third preseason game.

Garcon caught six-of-seven targets for 64 yards in the exhibition against Minnesota. It was nice to see the Niners offense moving the ball, with Garcon being a big part of that. Garcon should catch a good amount of passes this season, and he has good upside in addition to his solid floor.

Josh McCown gets injured in Jets’ fourth preseason game.

McCown and the offensive starters for the Jets are playing in the final preseason game versus the Eagles, and unfortunately McCown was injured. He took a big shot to the midsection/ribs from linebacker Joe Walker and went on his knees before going to the sidelines and out of the game. Hopefully it’s not too bad, as this would be one of the worst things that could happen for the Jets. Christian Hackenberg is now in the game for New York.

Carlos Hyde works as clear workhorse in 49ers’ third preseason game.

Hyde had seven carries for 19 yards and three receptions for 45 yards and a touchdown. The Niners tried to get Hyde involved in the passing game, as they threw him a screen pass then later he ran a nice angle rout for a touchdown. On the NBC broadcast, Cris Collinsworth (who could’ve been exaggerating and didn’t give a direct quote) said the 49ers wanted Hyde to lose weight so they can feed him the ball a ton this season. Hyde is currently going in the 30’s in most fantasy drafts.
