In early August, Slater reported Landry was under investigation for battery. Now, the NFL is reviewing the situation under the league’s personal conduct policy, according to Slater. There is reportedly a video of the alleged incident, but it’s unclear what is on the video. Landry’s girlfriend came out very strongly against the report, calling it fake and denying Landry did anything to her physically—which was thought to be the end of this. Until the NFL raps up their review, there is some slight risk to drafting Landry even if he didn’t do anything wrong.

Chris Thompson gets four touches in Redskins’ third preseason game.
As usual, Thompson mixed in with the first team as a great change of pace out of the backfield. He had three carries for nine yards and added a 27-yard reception. Thompson should have some very good PPR weeks this season, though his output might not be as consistent as you’d like.

Dontrelle Inman is on the trade block, according to Tom Pelissero.
The Chargers are stacked at receiver, so they’re looking to move Inman—a productive player that just finds himself low on the depth chart. There are certainly teams that would like Inman, but they might ultimately wait to see if the Chargers cut him. Keenan Allen, Tyrell Williams, and Travis Benjamin are locked in as Philip Rivers’ top three receivers in 2017, while Inman might end up on another team.

John Ross makes NFL preseason debut.
The Bengals weren’t rushing their electric rookie receiver, as he missed Week 1 and Week 2 of the preseason, but he made his debut against the Redskins. His speed wasn’t really showcases, as he didn’t catch either of his two targets. The Bengals did get Ross the ball on a jet sweep that he took for eight yards. It appears he’s currently the fourth receiver for the Bengals, so he’s only a late-round flier in fantasy drafts at this point.

The Seahawks are trying to trade Jermaine Kearse, according to ESPN’s Dianna Russini.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise in a loaded wide receivers group. Kearse is a decent role player, but he probably won’t be a fantasy contributor if he ends up with another team. His 49 catches in 2015 was a career high, and it’s hard to see him doing better without Russell Wilson in a different city.

Brandon Lafell catches two passes for 13 yards in Bengals’ third preseason game.
Lafell drew three targets from Andy Dalton. He’s still a starter opposite A.J. Green and will be a contributor to the Bengals, but it’d be a surprise if he delivered consistent fantasy value with so many other weapons in the offense.

Raiders sign receiver Seth Roberts to a two-year extension.
The extension keeps Roberts with the Raiders through 2019. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Roberts is receiving $12 million with $6.45 million guaranteed, so it’s an excellent deal for the 2014 undrafted free agent. Roberts has ten touchdowns combined over the last two seasons, and he’ll look to continue contributing to the team for the next three seasons. With Amari Cooper, Michael Crabtree, and now Cordarrelle Patterson in the mix, it’s unlikely he delivers good fantasy value; but he’ll be an important part of Oakland’s offense.
