Osweiler was given the opportunity to seize the starting quarterback job for Cleveland, but couldn’t get much going. He was 6/8 for 25 yards and an interception. The interception came on a tipped pass that was then picked off. It’s very surprising Osweiler, at 6’8″, gets as many passes tipped at the line of scrimmage that he does—Osweiler obviously plays smaller than his very tall frame. Browns head coach Hue Jackson wants to name a starting quarterback by Wednesday before the important third preseason game, and it appears to be down to Osweiler and rookie DeShone Kizer, despite neither of them being all that impressive.

Sterling Shepard gets targeted team-high five times in preseason game.
The second-year Giants receiver caught three of the five targets, but for only nine yards. If Shepard becomes a viable fantasy option in your lineup in 2017, it’ll likely be in PPR leagues unless there is an injury to Odell Beckham Jr. or Brandon Marshall (who both left the exhibition against the Browns but appear to be fine).

Evan Engram catches 21-yard pass in second preseason game.
Engram had three receptions for 32 yards total in the game for the Giants. He’s clearly going to be the lead receiving tight end for the Giants this season, and he could definitely have some fantasy value in a potentially very good offense.

Rookie Wayne Gallman leads Giants in rushing in exhibition against Cleveland.
The running back out of Clemson played late in the game and had five carries for 22 yards, while adding two receptions for 20 yards. Jon Gruden was talking up Gallman as being an all-around player that just “looks” like an NFL running back, suggesting he should maybe get more playing time for the Giants. We definitely agree and were surprised Gallman lasted until the fourth round in the NFL draft—it’s just obvious he’s a good player. Gallman is someone to roster in dynasty leagues, but he might not have much fantasy value this season if he stays behind Paul Perkins, Shane Vereen, and Orleans Darkwa.

Orleans Darkwa gets four carries in preseason game.
The third-year back picked up 11 yards on his touches. It appears he is not really pushing Paul Perkins for the lead back role in the Giants offense, which he’ll need to be to deliver fantasy value in 2017.

Shane Vereen gets two carries in Week 2 of the preseason.
The passing down back for the Giants had two eight-yard carries and that was it. Vereen—who is currently going undrafted in fantasy leagues—probably won’t have a lot of value in standard leagues, but he has some PPR appeal.

Giants struggle to run the ball in exhibition against Cleveland.
Paul Perkins carried six times for ten yards in the Week 2 preseason game. He did have a nice run of 16 yards, so he had -6 yards on his other five carries. Perkins also had a two-yard reception. Despite being a potential three-down back, it’s difficult to get that excited about Perkins’ fantasy value. He is going outside of the top 25 running backs, though.
