Join now >Anquan Boldin is retiring from the NFL.
The 36-year-old receiver told this to ESPN’s Jim Trotter. Boldin spent almost two weeks with the Bills, but has decided to call it a career. Boldin will always be known for his toughness and reliability as a receiver. No one will forget when he fractured his face after taking a huge helmet-to-helmet hit over the middle against the Jets and then returned after missing only two games. He finishes his career with 1,076 receptions, 13,779 receiving yards, and 82 touchdowns throughout seven seasons with the Cardinals, three seasons with the Ravens, three seasons with the 49ers, and a season with the Lions. And Boldin won a Super Bowl with the Ravens and was named the 2015 Walter Payton Man of the Year. There’s a strong case for Boldin being a Hall of Famer.

Justin Hunter catches touchdown in exhibition against Atlanta.
Hunter had three receptions for 16 yards and the touchdown. His touchdown came late in the game on a curl route where he spun out of a tackle near the goal line and scored. Hunter is battling Sammie Coates (and possibly Darrius Heyward-Bey) for a roster spot with the Steelers.

Sammie Coates catches three-of-four targets in Week 2 of the preseason.
The third-year receiver had 20 yards on his three receptions. Head coach Mike Tomlin indicated Coates could be fighting for one roster spot with Justin Hunter, who caught a touchdown in the game. If Coates isn’t going to make the team, the Steelers should definitely be able to get something good for him in a trade.

JuJu Smith-Schuster didn’t play in the Steelers’ second preseason game.
The rookie receiver is dealing with a knee bruise and is day-to-day. He should be good to go for the team’s third preseason game.

Martavis Bryant plays in first NFL game since last year.
The recently-reinstated wide receiver played in the Steelers’ Week 2 preseason game against the Falcons. He caught two-of-three targets for 20 yards. Bryant played into the second half of the game, probably because the Steelers want to get him back into the swing of things after he missed an entire year of football. He obviously offers huge upside as a mid-round fantasy pick.

Fitzgerald Toussaint starts in Week 2 preseason game for the Steelers.
With Le’Veon Bell still a no show, Toussaint started the game against the Falcons. He rushed twice for six yards and caught one pass for eight yards. Rookie James Conner (20 carries) then took almost all of the work from there. Toussaint will probably only have fantasy value if Bell holds out into the regular season and he remains the starter ahead of Conner n Bell’s absence.

James Conner plays well in NFL preseason debut.
The rookie out of Pitt, who sat in Week 1 of the preseason as he was returning from a shoulder sprain, carried 20 times for 98 yards against the Falcons. He also added a three-yard reception. Conner showed his ability to run downhill, while also showing that he has underrated quickness and lateral ability. Fitzgerald Toussaint is currently starting with Le’Veon Bell holding out, but Conner might be able to work his way into the number two role behind Bell if he keeps it up. With Bell and the Steelers in a seemingly shaky relationship, Conner could potentially be the future in the Steelers’ backfield.
