Join now >ArDarius Stewart makes preseason NFL debut.
Stewart caught two passes for 23 yards against the Lions on Saturday night. The former Alabama receiver is an explosive athlete and good with the ball in his hands, but he needs to polish his skills some. Fortunately, the Jets aren’t going anywhere in 2017, and he should get a chance to learn on the fly. While he’s well off the fantasy draft radar, Stewart could make an impact as a rookie.

Elijah McGuire rushed five times for 16 yards in Saturday night’s loss.
McGuire played well in the first preseason game, but last night was a low-scoring affair between the Jets and Lions, with Detroit coming out on top 16-6. In both redraft and dynasty leagues, McGuire is someone to keep an eye on; Matt Forte and Bilal Powell aren’t in New York’s future plans, but the rookie might be.
8/20/17 - 10:28 AM ET
Bilal Powell sees good workload in second preseason game.
Powell rushed nine times for 32 yards and caught two passes for 14 yards. The Jets are alarmingly low on talent this year, and Powell or Matt Forte (who did not play last night) look like the best bets for fantasy production, but that’s not saying much. Going in the seventh round of fantasy drafts, you can probably do better than Powell there.
8/20/17 - 10:25 AM ET
Bryce Petty was 15/24 for 160 yards and one interception in Saturday night’s preseason loss.
Petty is a clear third on the depth chart for the Jets, but he could wind up making starts in 2017. The 26-year-old can be ignored for fantasy purposes.
8/20/17 - 10:20 AM ET
Christian Hackenberg gets the start in Jets’ second preseason game.
Hackenberg went just 2/6 for 14 yards, zero touchdowns, and no turnovers, though he did fumble once. He also rushed twice for 11 yards. New York wants to see what they have in Hackenberg, but it’s tough to evaluate him with so little talent on offense. Still, Josh McCown starting Week 1 would be the best thing for all potential fantasy options on the Jets.
8/20/17 - 10:17 AM ET
Dwayne Washington leads Detroit in rushing yards on Saturday night.
It was a low-scoring exhibition, so Washington rushed eight times for just 24 yards. He had a 10-yard rush, but could only gain 14 yards on his other seven carries. Washington again played behind Zach Zenner, who got some run with the first-team offense.
8/20/17 - 10:12 AM ET
Zach Zenner rushed four times for eight yards in the Lions’ second preseason game.
Zenner notably played ahead of Dwayne Washington with the first-team offense, spelling starter Ameer Abdullah. The highlight was a nine-yard run that the 25-year-old bounced to the outside. Zenner is a nice player and should have a change-of-pace role in the regular season, but he probably won’t be a fantasy factor with Abdullah and Theo Riddick healthy.
