McCown was 3/4 for 72 yards and a touchdown, including a 53-yard throw to Robby Anderson that was put right on the money. The touchdown came on a four-yard curl route to Charone Peake. McCown and the Jets face the Lions next Saturday for Week 2 of the preseason.

Jackson totals 32 yards in exhibition against the Jaguars.
DeSean caught two passes for 17 yards and rushed once for 15 yards. Tampa Bay has moved Jackson around and looked for different ways to get him the ball, which has to be seen as a positive for his fantasy outlook. The 30-year-old still has his speed, so big games should be there in 2017. The Bucs play Cleveland next Saturday.

Alfred Morris clearly works behind Darren McFadden in last night’s exhibition.
Morris showed some good open-field running in the Hall of Fame game, but McFadden is still safely ahead of him in the backfield pecking order. He rushed five times for 11 yards. One injury to the injury-prone McFadden in the preseason or early in the regular season could make Morris a good early-year investment, as he’d find himself in a starting role behind an elite offensive line. Still, he’s not worth anything more than a late selection on draft day.

DeAndre Washington carries five times for 16 yards in preseason opener.
The second-year Raiders back broke off a solid nine-yard run, showing his quickness and acceleration. Washington and fellow second-year back Jalen Richard should both mix in with Marshawn Lynch this season.

Rookie Taywan Taylor leads Titans in receiving in preseason opener.
Taylor caught four-of-nine targets for 56 yards, including a long of 42. Taylor also had one carry for nine yards. On the 42-yard reception, he made a very nice leaping grab over a defender. He’s behind Rishard Matthews, Eric Decker, and Corey Davis (who sat the game), but Taylor is someone to keep an eye on.

Brandon Allen plays great in second preseason game.
The second-year quarterback was 10/15 for 144 yards and a touchdown, and he was also Jacksonville’s leading rusher with 27 yards on three carries against Tampa Bay. Allen nearly led a fourth-quarter comeback, coming up just short at the goal line, then nearly converting a Hail Mary on the final play of the game. The 24-year-old out of Arkansas can certainly throw the ball—something that was obvious during his time in college. With Blake Bortles struggling and the quarterback spot wide open according to Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone, don’t be surprised if Allen comes out of nowhere to make some starts in 2017.

Doug Martin scores in Bucs’ preseason game against Jacksonville.
Martin rushed five times for 30 yards and a goal-line touchdown that the bounced to the left edge. The two-time Pro Bowl back looks as good as ever so far this preseason, and even with a three-game suspension to start the year, he should have no problems besting his RB33 ranking in 2017.
