Join now >The Ravens are “weighing” a decision about Colin Kaepernick.
The team’s president Dick Cass said they have had “direct conversations” with Kaepernick, according to Jeff Zrebiec. Team owner Steve Bisciotti said he didn’t like Kaepernick’s national anthem protest, while adding he isn’t sure the quarterback could help them win games. The team owner not being a fan makes it highly unlikely the Ravens sign the controversial quarterback.

Anquan Boldin is visiting the Bills on Monday, according to ESPN’s Dan Graziano.
If anything comes of this, the 36-year-old would team-up with Tyrod Taylor, who was the backup quarterback when the two were in Baltimore. Boldin showed he still has some left in the tank last season with the Lions, catching 67 passes for 584 yards and eight touchdowns. He would probably be the fourth wideout and a veteran presence behind Sammy Watkins, Andre Holmes, and rookie Zay Jones if he were to join the team.

Alvin Kamara has looked “fast and fluid” through two padded practices, according to Mike Triplett of ESPN.
Triplett says Kamara’s role might be limited with Adrian Peterson and Mark Ingram in a crowded backfield, but he believes Kamara “should challenge” Travaris Cadet for a role in empty backfield sets. Head coach Sean Payton was asked if there are any comparisons between Kamara and Marshall Faulk (who is at Saints’ camp working for NFL Network), and Payton said there are “some traits” Kamara has that remind him of Faulk, naming intelligence and route-running ability. Payton did also say Faulk was “as good as there ever was” at that. The rookie has a long way to go, but there’s reason to be optimistic about him. Kamara could be a PPR asset this year.

According to Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero, the NFL is “wrapping up” its Ezekiel Elliott investigation.
There are multiple things the Cowboys running back is under scrutiny for, including an alleged domestic violence from last year. At this point, a suspension is expected, and it could be announced today, being it’s a Friday and the NFL might want to dump the news before the weekend. Elliott could appeal any potential suspension, if he indeed is suspended.

Rookie receiver Corey Davis started out practice with the first-team offense today.
It’s notable because this was Davis’ first training camp practice, and Jim Wyatt of the team official’s site said Davis lined up opposite Rishard Matthews on the first offensive snap of the day. The fifth overall pick in the draft is fully expected to be one of Marcus Mariota’s top options this year, and this confirms the team expects him to step right in and be that. The Titans have a deep receiving group with their offseason additions, but the top three receivers are likely going to be Matthews and Davis with Eric Decker in the slot.

Free agent running back Denard Robinson worked out for the Cowboys yesterday, according to Jane Slater.
Slater says the Cowboys are “still looking to fill the void left by Lance Dunbar” (who is now with the Rams) and brought in Robinson for a workout. “Shoelace” played his first four seasons with the Jaguars, and it’s surprising another team hasn’t signed him by now. He obviously wasn’t signed immediately, but if the Cowboys sign him he should have a real shot at making the team, especially with Ezekiel Elliott’s looming suspension likely to keep him out for at least the first week of the season.

Saints receiver Brandon Coleman has stood out to Sean Payton so far in training camp.
Payton was asked how Coleman is performing so far in camp, and he said Coleman has been doing very well and made a couple plays each day. Payton also said his big 6’6″ receiver is “looks to be running well.” The Saints head coach was asked particularly about Coleman when he made these comments, but he did also name Coleman again when asked if anyone stood out to him so far. With Brandin Cooks gone to New England, Coleman could be in line for a bigger role this year. The former Rutgers receiver has certainly shown flashes as a big, athletic guy through two seasons in the NFL. There’s sleeper potential there in deeper leagues.
