Join now >Cameron Meredith suffered a thumb ligament injury in OTAs and will be out for the rest of offseason training, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter reports that Meredith is expected to be ready for training camp. Meredith is looking to build on a solid second season, so hopefully the thumb heals enough for him to be full-go for training camp.

Free agent receiver Andrew Hawkins is signing with the Patriots, according to Adam Schefter.
Hawkins played his last three seasons with the Browns. He can contribute on special teams and will add great depth to an already deep New England receiving corps. He's probably not a lock to make the team, but Hawkins definitely has a shot at earning a spot.

Eagles offensive coordinator Frank Reich is happy with quarterback Carson Wentz.
Reich said Wentz's pocket movement looks "really good," and he's happy with his accuracy so far. Reich is OK with Wentz going to work with outside quarterback coaches this offseason (players are not allowed to talk football with their NFL team coaches) to try and get better. Some have speculated based on things head coach Doug Pederson has said that the Eagles coaches were not happy with Wentz getting outside help, but that likely isn't true, as the team should be happy with the quarterback trying to improve. Wentz could make big improvements this season and has QB1 potential.

New Jets offensive coordinator John Morton said the team will use a running-back-by-committee this season.
Both Matt Forte and Bilal Powell are in the Jets' backfield, and they are both very capable players. Morton said the gameplan will vary from week to week, but both players should get time each week. Forte and Powell both performed well last season, but Powell is likely to emerge as the leader of the committee because he showed more juice when on the field last season. They should both be drafted, and they both might be able to carry fantasy value this season.

Saints players are "absolutely gushing with praise over Adrian Peterson," according to Mike Triplett.
Offensive tackle Terron Armstead said he's "never seen anyone like him." AD is an absolute beast—there aren't many people like him out there—and even at 32-years-old, Peterson is as athletic as they come. Known for his legendary workouts and ability to keep up with younger athletes, Peterson is motivated after the separation from the Vikings, and he clearly has been working hard to help his new team. Mark Ingram (and rookie Alvin Kamara) are in the backfield, but Peterson might emerge as the top option. Either way, the Saints have a stacked backfield, and all three running backs should have fantasy value this season.

Ezekiel Elliott suffered a head injury in his car accident on Sunday.
It's unclear whether it's a concussion or something else, but this further explains why the Cowboys want to hold Elliott out of OTAs, even if he's good to go. Hopefully it's not too serious and Elliott can get to 100% soon.

The Seahawks have signed Austin Davis.
Davis will compete with Trevone Boykin for the backup quarterback job behind Russell Wilson. The former undrafted free agent has started 10 games since entering the league in 2012, completing 62.4% of his passes for 2,548 yards, 13 touchdowns, and 12 inteceptions with the Rams and Browns. Davis actually has a victory over Pete Carroll's Seahawks, when he led the Rams to a win over Seattle in 2014. Barring an injury, this signing likely shuts the door on Colin Kaepernick joining the Seahawks, which says all that needs to be said about his NFL future.
