ESPN’s Adam Schefter says Minshew has “multiple fractures and a strained ligament in his right thumb” and that he’s been dealing with “discomfort in his thumb” since October 11 against the Texans. The Jaguars are currently on a bye week, so perhaps the time off will give him a chance to heal up. However, it’s certainly possible that Minshew will miss time with this thumb issue. There were already rumors that Jacksonville was set to bench Minshew before this injury popped up.

Sammy Watkins (hamstring) officially did not practice today.
It’s only Wednesday, but this isn’t a great sign for Watkins’ chances of returning to the lineup this week. Frankly, the Chiefs probably aren’t going to rush Watkins back given their matchup against the 0-7 Jets this Sunday.

Alshon Jeffery (calf) officially did not practice today.
It appears to be just the calf that’s giving Alshon issues, and it’s difficult to see him making his season debut this Sunday night. Consider the big receiver week-to-week, but hopefully he can get back on the practice field soon. Also keep in mind that the trade deadline is looming next week, and Jeffery has been long rumored as a potential trade candidate.

Miles Sanders (knee) officially did not practice today.
Sanders is looking unlikely for Sunday night against the Cowboys, but perhaps he can get on the practice field tomorrow or Friday and make a push to play in the divisional matchup.

Michael Thomas (ankle/hamstring) officially did not practice today.
It’s not looking great for Thomas in Week 8, but we’ll see if he can get on the practice field in at least a limited capacity tomorrow.

The Cowboys are signing Cooper Rush.
While it’s a new head coach in Dallas in Mike McCarthy, Rush is familiar with the Cowboys and will provide depth in the quarterback room. He’s expected to officially sign with the Cowboys next week because of COVID protocols.

Dalvin Cook (groin) was officially limited in today’s practice.
This is a fine start to the week for Cook, and hopefully he’s able to get up to a full practice tomorrow or Friday. The hope and expectation has been that Cook will be ready to go this Sunday as Minnesota comes off its bye week.
