Aaron Jones (calf) officially did not practice today.

Jones was also listed as a non-participant in yesterday’s walkthrough. It seems the Packers are going to take an ultra cautious approach with their star runner, so expect Jamaal Williams to again lead the backfield this Sunday against the Vikings. We’ll see if Jones is ruled out ahead of the weekend when the final Week 8 injury report is out tomorrow.

Devonta Freeman (ankle) officially did not practice today.

The Giants play on Monday night this week, so unless some positive news develops tomorrow or Saturday, Freeman will likely be difficult to trust in Week 8 fantasy lineups—which might be the case regardless against an elite Buccaneers defense.

Miles Sanders (knee) officially did not practice today.

It’s going to take considerable progress between now, tomorrow, and then Sunday for Sanders to play against the Cowboys this weekend. There’s probably a decent chance the second-year running back is ruled out tomorrow when the final Week 8 injury report is released.

Dalvin Cook (groin) officially remains limited in practice.

Cook is fully expected to play this Sunday against the Packers baring a setback, but the final Week 8 injury report will be released tomorrow. Ideally, Cook will not carry an injury designation heading into the weekend.

Christian McCaffrey (ankle) was not activated from injured reserve.

There was a 4:00 PM ET deadline for McCaffrey to be officially activated and to be able to play tonight against the Falcons, but the Panthers have opted against it. This will be McCaffrey’s sixth consecutive missed game, but the All-Pro running back is now fully expected to return for Week 9 versus the Chiefs after returning to practice this week.

Julian Edelman (knee) is expected to miss time, according to multiple reports.

[UPDATE: Edelman reportedly underwent a knee procedure and will miss time.] Edelman is not at practice today, and he’s set to miss time with his knee issue. Consider the veteran receiver week-to-week for now, and look for the Patriots to lean on the rushing attack this Sunday against the Bills.

Jamison Crowder (groin) will practice on a limited basis today.

This is positive step in the right direction for Crowder, and he should have a shot to play Sunday against the Chiefs. We’ll see how the slot receiver is listed on the final Week 8 injury report when it’s released tomorrow.
