Raiders head coach Jon Gruden has said Mariota made great progress in his recovery from a “freak injury” suffered during the summer, and this move activates a 21-day window in which Mariota must be taken off injured reserve (if not, he will spend the rest of the season there). It’s just a matter of when Mariota is activated to the 53-man roster, and from there it would not be a surprise if he eventually takes over for Derek Carr if Gruden isn’t happy with the performance of the offense. The former No. 2 overall pick is a major wild-card that could provide a spark for Vegas if called upon.

Jamison Crowder (hamstring) is questionable for Thursday night.
There is hope that Crowder will be active, but we probably won’t know until tomorrow evening. The veteran slot receiver would immediately be back on the FLEX radar and projects to have a healthy target share on an offense that currently lacks weapons.

Breshad Perriman (ankle) has been ruled out for Week 4.
The Jets are hoping to have Jamison Crowder (hamstring, questionable) back in the lineup, but they will be without their top perimeter option. We’ll see if a long break before Week 5 can give Perriman enough time to return against the Cardinals.

Raheem Mostert (knee) is not practicing.
Mostert missed last week’s game and may be on the wrong side of questionable for Week 4. Jerick McKinnon and Jeff Wilson would again lead the backfield if Mostert is out again, but we’ll see if he can get in at least a limited session on Thursday or Friday to have a shot at suiting up.

Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) is not practicing on Wednesday.
Garoppolo not even getting in a limited session isn’t a good sign for his Week 4 outlook, but perhaps the Niners are just taking thing slow with their starting quarterback. If Jimmy G ends up sitting again, Nick Mullens would make another start as San Francisco hopes to improve to 3-1.
9/30/20 - 03:45 PM ET
George Kittle (knee) is practicing fully.
Kittle is set to return on Sunday night against the Eagles after a two-game absence, and he will immediately be back in consideration as the top fantasy play at tight end. Jimmy Garoppolo (ankle) potentially being out again wouldn’t really impact Kittle’s outlook because of the numbers he’s produced with Nick Mullens under center in previous years.

The 49ers activated the practice window for Deebo Samuel (foot).
Samuel now has a 21-day practice window before he has to be activated off injured reserve, but the second-year receiver is fully expected to be cleared for Week 5 (though perhaps he’ll push to play this Sunday night). Deebo is definitely worth a pickup if he’s available in your league.
