Tarik Cohen | Free Agent RB

Tarik Cohen leaves game with apparent leg injury.

Cohen appeared to take a hit to the right leg and was holding his knee area. Unfortunately, Cohen was unable to put any pressure on his right leg while going off the field. The dynamic running back’s day is almost certainly over, and now we just have to hope this isn’t a lengthy absence. Before leaving, Cohen had two carries for 21 yards and three receptions for 30 yards.

Dallas Goedert | Eagles TE

The Eagles placed Dallas Goedert (ankle) on injured reserve.

Goedert is dealing with a slight fracture in his ankle that isn’t expected to cause him to miss a significant period of time, but he’ll miss the next three games at minimum while on injured reserve. Goedert is not a must-hold in redraft leagues that don’t have IR spots.

DeSean Jackson | Retired WR

DeSean Jackson (hamstring) has been ruled out for the rest of today’s game.

Jackson caught two passes for 11 yards before leaving versus the Bengals. Jackson has struggled to stay on the field since the Eagles acquired him and boosted his contract last offseason.

Hakeem Butler | Free Agent WR

The Eagles signed Hakeem Butler.

Philadelphia is hurting at receiver and tight end, and Butler was seen by many as a first-round talent in last year’s draft before he dropped to Arizona in the fourth round—but the Eagles plan to use him at tight end. Butler is being signed off Carolina’s practice squad and will immediately join the 53-man roster for the Eagles. He remains an intriguing name to keep an eye on in dynasty leagues in particular, and the move to tight end is very interesting. Darren Waller made an extremely successful transition from wide receiver to tight end with the Raiders, so perhaps Butler can do the same.

Jordan Reed | Retired TE

Jordan Reed (ankle/knee) has been ruled out for the rest of today.

The hits keep coming for the Niners. Reed appeared to be banged up while trying to make a catch in the end zone in the first half, and now he’s done for the day. Reed had two receptions for 23 yards before leaving.

Brett Rypien | Free Agent QB

Brett Rypien is expected to start on Thursday night, according to NFL Network’s James Palmer.

As a 2019 undrafted free agent, it’s pretty cool that he’ll now be starting in his second season in the league. Rypien is the nephew of former Redskins Super Bowl winning quarterback Mark Rypien, and he’ll make his first career NFL start in primetime to kickoff Week 4. Jeff Driskel may still get playing time along with Rypien, and neither is a highly recommended fantasy option.

Mitchell Trubisky | Bills QB

The Bears have benched Mitchell Trubisky.

Chicago is down by 16 points and looking for a spark against the Falcons, so they are turning to veteran signal-caller Nick Foles. This will allow Trubisky to take a step back and watch the game from another perspective, but there’s a chance he doesn’t regain the starting job if Foles operates Matt Nagy’s offense well. Trubisky was 13/22 for 128 yards, one touchdown, and one interception along with a 45-yard carry today before being benched.
