Duke Johnson Jr. | Free Agent RB

Duke Johnson (leg) has officially been ruled out for the rest of tonight’s game.

It was a quick glimpse via the television broadcast, but Johnson looked like he might have been emotional while walking to the locker room. Hopefully it’s not thought of as a serious injury after initial tests, but more information should become available in the next day or so. Johnson had five carries for 14 yards before leaving the season opener.

Duke Johnson Jr. | Free Agent RB

Duke Johnson (leg) is questionable to return for the Texans.

It’s unclear when Johnson was hurt, but teammate David Johnson also looked banged up on the sideline, so hopefully both players are OK. The Texans are down 17 with the third quarter soon coming to an end.

Scottie Phillips | Free Agent RB

The Texans promoted Scottie Phillips to the active roster.

The undrafted rookie worked his way all the way onto the 53-man roster for the NFL’s opening game this season, which is pretty cool and quite the accomplishment for the Ole Miss product. Phillips will likely be asked to contribute mostly on special teams tonight, so he’s not a recommended fantasy play.

Keke Coutee | Free Agent WR

Keke Coutee is inactive for Week 1.

The Texans are very deep at receiver, and unfortunately Coutee is the odd man out to open the season tonight. The third-year receiver does not need to be held in redraft leagues.

Brandin Cooks | Saints WR

Brandin Cooks (quad) is active for Week 1.

This was the expectation, as Cooks was not going to want to miss the NFL’s opening game for his new team. Houston is expecting strong production out of Cooks after sending a second-round pick to Los Angeles for him (and a fourth-rounder) this offseason.

Courtland Sutton | Broncos WR

Courtland Sutton has an AC joint sprain, according to 9News’ Mike Klis.

Klis says Sutton is day-to-day with the shoulder injury. It could’ve been worse for Sutton after he injured his shoulder earlier today in practice, but the third-year receiver has a shot to play on Monday night against the Titans and shouldn’t miss too much time if he does miss any games. The final Week 1 injury report for the Broncos will be out on Saturday, as the team plays in the final game of the week late Monday night.

Deebo Samuel | Commanders WR

Deebo Samuel (foot) officially did not practice today.

Samuel would probably do well to be listed as questionable on the final Week 1 injury report when it’s released tomorrow, but he’s a very physical player that can probably suit up on Sunday with little practice time during the week. Ideally, Samuel will be at least limited in tomorrow’s practice.
