Join now >The Giants have released Scott Simonson.
Simonson has been with the Raiders, Panthers, and Giants since going undrafted in 2014, and he should be able to find another team relatively soon. The Assumption product will turn just 28 in April.

The Falcons are expected to pick up Matt Schaub’s option, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
It is a $2 million option for Schaub, but the Falcons could ultimately decide to go in another direction for their backup quarterback spot this offseason when free agency and the draft roll around. The veteran Schaub is a safe option Atlanta can be happy with if they stick with him heading into the regular season.

Ben Roethlisberger (elbow) is throwing.
The Steelers posted a video of Roethlisberger tossing around a ball. Considering there’s been some unfounded talk that Big Ben might not play again because of his shoulder issue, this is a promising sign. Roethlisberger is fully expected to be good to go for the start of the 2020 season, and he’ll ideally be ready to go for the beginning of training camp this summer.

The Lions are re-signing Danny Amendola, according to Peter Schrager.
This is a bit of a surprise considering Amendola would have likely had a nice selection of teams if he hit free agency, but the veteran receiver must like his situation in Detroit after 62 receptions for 678 yards and a touchdown in 2019. Amendola should benefit if Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford can stay healthy all year this season.

The Jets signed Josh Doctson.
The former Redskins first-round pick in 2016 spent time with the Vikings last season but played in just one game, so he’ll be looking to stay healthy and get his career on track with the Jets. Doctson is 27 years old and has down-the-field upside to carve out a role in Adam Gase’s offense.

The Bears are releasing Taylor Gabriel, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Gabriel had an impressive first season in Chicago with 67 receptions for 688 yards and two touchdowns, but he missed the final five games of the year in 2019, and the Bears are now moving on. While “Turbo” will be able to sign with another team before the new league year, it will be interesting to see how quickly the market moves at the position ahead of what looks like a loaded draft class. As for Chicago, Anthony Miller will be the clear No. 2 wideout in 2020, and Riley Ridley or Javon Wims may get a chance to claim the No. 3 role.

The Jaguars exercised their team option on Chris Conley.
Conley set career-highs across the board with 47 receptions for 775 yards and 16.5 yards per reception while starting 14 games for Jacksonville last season, so this was fully expected. The Georgia product is still just 27 years old and should remain a strong contributor for the Jaguars in 2020.
