LeSean McCoy (ankle) was officially limited in today’s practice.

After McCoy didn’t finish last week’s game against the Ravens, practicing on Wednesday is a good sign for his Week 4 availability. Expect the veteran running back to also be limited in tomorrow’s practice, but we’ll update you if anything changes.

DeSean Jackson (abdomen) will not play in Week 3.

Eagles head coach Doug Pederson went ahead and ruled Jackson out, but he said he’s hopeful Alshon Jeffery and Dallas Goedert can both play on Sunday despite calf injuries. Jackson is expected to miss next Thursday’s game against the Packers too, and he should be considered week-to-week for now.

The Eagles promoted Greg Ward from the practice squad.

With DeSean Jackson (abdomen) out and Alshon Jeffery (calf) questionable for Week 3, Ward is getting the call up to the active roster. Ward might spend some time in the slot while Nelson Agholor gets more snaps on the outside tomorrow against the Lions.

The Lions have released C.J. Anderson.

This is a bit of a surprise, as Anderson opened the year operated in a timeshare backfield with Kerryon Johnson. Anderson was released to make room for Detroit to claim Paul Perkins off waivers. J.D. McKissic and rookie Ty Johnson (combined nine touches in Week 2) will remain involved, but this paves the way for Kerryon to assume more of a workhorse role for the Lions after there was some concern about his workload being limited with Anderson in the mix. Anderson has surprisingly had trouble sticking with a team over the last couple of years, but he should draw interest from another squad soon.

Rashard Higgins (knee) is officially inactive for Week 3.

This is Higgins’ second consecutive missed game, and he should be considered week-to-week as he deals with this knee injury.

Chris Conley (ankle) has returned for the Jaguars.

Conley probably got his ankle wrapped up, and he’s back out there at the end of the second quarter with Jacksonville up 14-0 on Tennessee.

Tre’Quan Smith (ankle) has officially been ruled out for Week 3.

Consider Smith week-to-week with his ankle injury. Outside of Michael Thomas, none of New Orleans’ wide receivers are highly recommended fantasy options with Drew Brees out of the lineup.
