Join now >Malcolm Brown scores twice in season opener.
Brown carried 11 times for 53 yards and two touchdowns, working in about an even timeshare with Todd Gurley (14 carries, 97 yards) in the Rams’ Week 1 win over the Panthers. As has usually been the case when he’s been given opportunities, Brown looked very good on his carries, and both his touchdowns came deep in the red zone while Gurley was on the sidelines. Things could vary week-to-week, and third-round rookie Darrell Henderson could get more work as the season progresses, but Brown should be one of the top waiver-wire adds this week as an integral part of an elite offense.

Marqise Lee (knee) is listed as questionable for Week 2.
Lee played in the season opener but had no catches, but he wasn’t listed on the injury report prior to the game. We’ll see if he’s able to suit up against the Texans on Sunday. The Jags kick off at 1:00 PM ET.

Joe Mixon (ankle) is not practicing today.
While a limited practice would have been a good sign, it’s not surprising that Mixon is being held out of the week’s first practice. Bengals head coach Zac Taylor called Mixon “day-to-day” earlier today, and he could be trending toward a gametime call on Sunday. We expect he’ll be out there against the Niners, but check back on his status the next couple of days.

Le’Veon Bell (shoulder) will not practice today.
Jets head coach Adam Gase says it could just be a sore shoulder for Bell, but the All-Pro running back is getting an MRI. If Bell is forced to miss time, Ty Montgomery would be at least on the FLEX radar. We expect Bell will be OK, though.

Todd Gurley comes alive in the fourth quarter of Rams’ Week 1 win.
Teammate Malcolm Brown (11 carries, 53 yards) scored twice in the first three quarters for the Rams, which was a major concern for Gurley owners; but Gurley came alive in the fourth quarter, carrying eight times for 64 yards to help finish off a win at Carolina. Overall, Gurley had 14 carries for 97 yards and one reception for four yards in the victory. While Gurley looked fine when he got the ball, this situation is a definite concern, as the former Offensive Player of the Year looks like he’s going to sit long stretches during games this year. We’ll see what happens moving forward, but it doesn’t look like Gurley will be a consistent high-end RB1 as things stand—though he still should have huge weeks, and it’ll help if he gets the ball more in scoring territory.
9/9/19 - 07:19 AM ET
Jordan Reed (concussion) has been ruled out for Week 2.
There seemed to be optimism for Reed, but he’s still out this Sunday against the Cowboys. It’s concerning that Reed is still out from the concussion suffered a few weeks ago, and hopefully he’s feeling better soon. Vernon Davis is on the tight end streaming radar for Week 2.

A.J. Green (ankle) says he’s “turned the corner” in his rehab.
Green is now running on a zero gravity treadmill, and he has the boot off his foot, which he says has helped him turn the corner as he comes back from the injury. The Pro Bowl receiver also said that he won’t put a timetable on his recovery because he wants to make sure he doesn’t come back too soon and hurt it again. Consider Green week-to-week, but the outlook is promising—be sure to pick him up if he’s somehow available in your fantasy league. A return late this month could be a possibility for Green.
