Join now >Mike Williams (knee) is officially questionable to return to today’s game.
Williams jogged off earlier and was getting looked at on the training table, and now he’s officially being called questionable to return. It’s probably a good sign that Williams wasn’t ruled out immediately, but we’ll update you when more information becomes available.

The Chiefs are releasing Byron Pringle.
This move is likely being made to make room for De’Anthony Thomas coming back from his one-game suspension, but it’s still a slight surprise that Pringle is being released after Tyreek Hill’s injury. If no one else picks up Pringle, he could certainly return to Kansas City’s practice squad.

Joe Mixon (ankle) is questionable to return against the Seahawks.
Mixon was limping noticeably on the sideline, and now he’s headed to the locker room to get his left ankle checked out. Giovani Bernard will likely handle most of the touches while Mixon remains out, but hopefully the third-year runner can return soon.

Darius Slayton (hamstring) has been ruled out for Week 1.
Slayton didn’t practice all week with his hamstring injury. This is a blow to the depth of the Giants’ thin receiving corps, but Slayton isn’t really on the fantasy radar at the moment.

The Browns released Rico Gathers.
Gathers is coming off a suspension, and Cleveland is moving in another direction at tight end. The former Cowboys should find a new landing spot pretty soon as an athletic player at his position.

Antonio Brown issued “an emotional apology”, according to ESPN’s Josina Anderson.
Anderson, who reported earlier today that Brown started the argument had called Raiders general manager Mike Mayock a derogatory name (while Mayock coolly tried to defuse the situation) during his outburst at Wednesday’s practice, says that Brown issued the apology at a team meeting this morning “with team captains standing with him.” Raiders quarterback Derek Carr’s brother David said on NFL Network last night that the team captains had gone to Jon Gruden and said they’ll have his back whatever the team decides to do with Brown, so this is noteworthy that the team captains stood with him here. An apology from Brown was probably a requirement for the Raiders to even consider allowing him to play with the team at any point, but a suspension for Week 1—which could have guaranteed money consequences for Brown—still seems likely. This apology does probably make it more likely that he suits up for Oakland at some point, though. However, AB has made it difficult to trust him, so stay tuned.

Tevin Coleman (ankle) is out for the rest of today’s game.
It’s unclear when Coleman was injured, but he’s been announced as out at the start of the second half. Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert will now carry the load for the Niners with Coleman out. Hopefully this ankle injury isn’t too serious and doesn’t keep Coleman out for longer than the rest of today. Before leaving, Coleman operated as San Francisco’s starter and lead back, carrying six times for 23 yards along with two receptions for 33 yards.
