Join now >Le’Veon Bell’s MRI revealed no significant damage, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Jets head coach Adam Gase didn’t sound too concerned about Bell earlier today, but this is obviously great news nonetheless. Consider Bell day-to-day for now, but we expect he’ll be ready to go for Monday night against the Browns.

Marlon Mack gets 25 carries in Colts’ overtime loss.
Mack gained 174 yards with a touchdown on his 25 attempts in the Week 1 contest versus the Chargers. Mack’s afternoon was highlighted by a 63-yard touchdown run where he was given a nice hole and burst through it before using his great speed to zoom up the sideline, but he picked up positive yardage and ran well all game. When Mack was featured like this last season, he was an elite fantasy asset (he had 125+ rushing yards in every game with 19+ carries), and he should get that much work more frequently with no Andrew Luck in 2019. While the touchdown upside might not be as high on an offense that figures to be not as good without Luck, Mack has the upside to lead the league in rushing if he’s going to get 20+ carries per week. Next week against a tough Titans defense will be an interesting test.

Melvin Gordon “still wants to be a Charger” and will report this season, according to Jeremy Fowler.
We never expected Gordon’s holdout to be a year-long thing because of how it will impact his free agency status in 2020, but it’s still good to hear a solid report that this is “not a Le’Veon Bell situation,” per Fowler. With negotiations not going well, Gordon wants to stay healthy and cash in on a deal with someone else after the season, so he will probably report right before he has to and hope to help Los Angeles in a postseason run. If he’s somehow available in your league, Gordon needs to be picked up immediately, and it might be wise to sell high on Austin Ekeler.

Sterling Shepard (concussion) did not practice today.
Shepard will hopefully be able to progress through concussion protocol and get up to a limited practice by tomorrow, but consider him 50/50 for Week 2 at the moment. The Giants are already thin at receiver even with Shepard.

Albert Wilson (hip/calf) officially did not practice today.
Dolphins head coach Brian Flores said today that the hope is Wilson can play on Sunday against the Patriots, but that doesn’t mean there’s optimism about his status. He’s looking unlikely to play in Week 2 at this point, but we’ll see if he’s able to participate in tomorrow’s practice.

Sammy Watkins explodes for three touchdowns in Week 1.
Watkins started the scoring for Kansas City against Jacksonville, and he caught all three of Patrick Mahomes’ touchdown passes in a 40-26 victory. The first score was a 68-yarder on an in-breaking route, where Watkins made one guy miss and used his speed to race to the house. The second touchdown was on a 48-yard wheel route where he was wide-open and basically walked into the end zone. And the third touchdown was in one-on-one coverage by the goal line against All-Pro cornerback Jalen Ramsey, with Mahomes showing confidence in his playmaker. Overall, Watkins caught nine passes for 198 yards and three touchdowns, and he showed confidence and strong hands all day. While it wouldn’t matter much whether or not Tyreek Hill (shoulder, out at least a few weeks) is on the field, the talented Watkins looks like he’s poised for a career year. He’ll now command more attention after Hill’s injury, but his targets are likely to increase. If you benched Watkins in Week 1, get him into lineups next week against the Raiders.

Albert Wilson (hip/calf) has been ruled out for Week 2.
Wilson did not practice all week, so this is not a surprise. Consider Wilson week-to-week at this point.
