Pharoh Cooper | Free Agent WR

The Cardinals released Pharoh Cooper.

Cooper didn’t quite fit with the new coaching staff in Arizona, but he should not lack interest from the other 31 teams. The former Ram was named an All-Pro in 2017, and he can make big contributions on special teams for the squad that picks him up.

Tyler Kroft | Free Agent TE

Tyler Kroft (foot) has been activated from the PUP list.

This is obviously a great sign for his recovery, and Kroft should have a shot to be Buffalo’s starting tight end after all. The team will also be relying on rookies Dawson Knox and Tommy Sweeney with Jason Croom on IR.

Brett Rypien | Free Agent QB

The Broncos have released Brett Rypien.

Rypien is a candidate for the practice squad, and Denver currently only has Drew Lock on the active roster behind Joe Flacco. The team will certainly add a backup with Lock (thumb) injured, though.

Jacob Hollister | Free Agent TE

The Seahawks signed Jacob Hollister to the practice squad.

Hollister was cut yesterday, but he’s back in Seattle’s building as he looks to work his way into a gameday role at some point.

Josh Ferguson | Washington RB

The Texans have waived Josh Ferguson.

Despite Lamar Miller’s season-ending injury, Ferguson was unable to win a role in Houston’s backfield. The 26-year-old will look to land with another team and earn a spot on a 53-man roster.

Demaryius Thomas | Retired WR

The Patriots are releasing Demaryius Thomas, according to Ian Rapoport.

It looked like DT may have been safe after scoring twice in the preseason finale, but New England has plenty of bodies at receiver, especially after undrafted rookie Jakobi Meyers stepped up this summer. Also, while catching passes from Tom Brady would have been nice, Thomas—who is coming off a torn Achilles—might actually have more value somewhere else as the No. 3 or No. 4 option rather than fifth with the Pats.

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Bengals are cutting Cody Core.

Core has spent his first three years in the NFL with the Bengals after being selected in the sixth round in 2016, and he did a nice job on offense when called upon. Core can also contribute on special teams, and he shouldn’t have trouble finding a new team soon.
