Mark Walton | Free Agent RB

Mark Walton received six months probation, according to Andy Slater.

Walton was arrested multiple times this offseason, but he plead no contest to a misdemeanor weapons charge and had his other charges dismissed. The former University of Miami running back can get his probation reduced to three months with good behavior. It’s good that this situation is solved, but the NFL is still likely to discipline Walton for his off-field actions. Walton is currently looking to make the 53-man roster for the Dolphins.

Cody Core | Giants WR

The Giants claimed Cody Core.

Core was recently waived by the Bengals, and he can contribute on both offense and special teams. With the Giants dealing with injury and suspension (Golden Tate) in their receiving corps, it’s possible Core gets playing time in Week 1 against the Cowboys.

DeSean Jackson | Retired WR

DeSean Jackson (finger) will play in Week 1.

Eagles team insider Dave Spadaro says the speedy veteran receiver will be out there against the Redskins to open the season. There was a report that Jackson would potentially be out for Week 1, but it’s not surprising that it’s known that he’ll be suiting up. Expect Jackson to tape his broken left ring finger to another one of his fingers, and it shouldn’t effect the deep threat too much.

Jazz Ferguson | Free Agent WR

The Seahawks are waiving Jazz Ferguson.

Ferguson had a strong preseason and was thought to have a chance to make Seattle’s 53-man roster, but he’ll now hit waivers. Teams could be interested in the big undrafted rookie receiver, but he’ll likely join the Seahawks practice squad if he goes unclaimed.

Chad Henne | Retired QB

Chad Henne has a fractured ankle.

He’ll likely be placed on injured reserve, but we’ll see. Expect the Chiefs to bring in another veteran quarterback behind Patrick Mahomes.

John Kelly Jr. | Ravens RB

The Rams have released John Kelly.

Los Angeles has Malcolm Brown and third-rounder Darrell Henderson locked in behind Todd Gurley, so Kelly would have needed them to keep four backs to have a shot of sticking around. He could potentially land elsewhere as someone’s No. 3 runner.

Antonio Brown | Free Agent WR

Antonio Brown is back with the Raiders.

We’ll see what happens, but it sounds like Raiders general manager Mike Mayock’s message might have been heard loud and clear by Brown. No matter how he feels about not being able to wear the helmet he wants, it’s time for the All-Pro receiver to make Oakland not regret taking a chance on acquiring him this offseason. Hopefully this is the end of the entire saga, but don’t be surprised by anything at this point.
