WOLF SPORTS PROJECTION

Clive Walford | Dolphins TE

The Dolphins have signed Clive Walford.

Walford is being signed as a corresponding move to the Dolphins placing top cornerback Xavien Howard on injured reserve. The former University of Miami tight end rejoins Miami after he was with them throughout the summer, and it'll be cool if he suits up for his hometown team. Walford is not a recommended fantasy pickup at the moment.

The Dolphins have released Clive Walford, according to Ian Rapoport.

Walford was released with an injury settlement, but it isn't a long-term issue, which could allow the veteran to quickly resurface. The former Miami standout got off to a solid start in Oakland to begin his career, but he's caught just nine passes over the past two years.

The Dolphins have signed Clive Walford.

A third-round pick out of Miami in 2015, Walford spent the first three years of his career in Oakland, catching 70 passes for 768 yards and six touchdowns before being cut prior to the 2018 season—which he spent bouncing between the Colts, Jets, and then Colts again, though he didn't appear in a game. We like Walford's talent (and he's still just 27), so perhaps he will get his career on track for his hometown team. That said, he isn't currently on the fantasy radar.

The Colts have signed Clive Walford, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

A third-round pick of the Raiders in the 2015 NFL Draft, Walford has the ability to make an impact in Frank Reich's tight-end-heavy attack, but he is unlikely to provide reliable fantasy value down the stretch. Eric Ebron will operate as the clear No. 1 option at the position with Mo Alie-Cox and Erik Swoope also still around as touchdown threats.

The Jets waived Clive Walford, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

The 2015 third-round pick of the Raiders was claimed by the Jets in April. Walford had three touchdowns in each of his first two NFL seasons, and he'll receive interest from other teams moving forward.

The Jets have claimed former Raiders tight end Clive Walford, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Walford was released by Oakland last week after three seasons with the team, but it's not surprising that he was claimed on waivers. The former third-round pick is still just 26-years-old and has flashed when given the opportunity, and opportunity should be plentiful with the Jets. As the roster currently stands, Walford will likely compete with 2017 fifth-round pick Jordan Leggett for snaps on an offensive that needs skill-position players to step up. Of course, things could change via the draft or a trade, but this is a good landing spot for Walford's dynasty outlook.

The Raiders have released tight end Clive Walford, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

After he had two solid seasons his first two years in the NFL, Walford didn't have a big role behind Jared Cook last season and caught only nine passes. In his three years with the Raiders, Walford caught 70 passes for 768 yards and six touchdowns. The 2015 third-round selection out of Miami should have no problem finding a new team, and the Dolphins might be a good fit given their hole at tight end.

Clive Walford catches all four targets in Week 13.

Teammate Jared Cook was a good target going into the game, as the Giants are very poor at stopping opposing tight ends, but it was Walford that had the solid game in a Raiders win. Walford caught all four targets, gaining 57 yards in the game. Walford had been a good contributor to the Raiders in his first two seasons in the league, and he's someone that might step up for them down the stretch here as they try to make a push for the playoffs.

Clive Walford leads Oakland in receiving in opening preseason game.

Walford caught all three of his targets for 44 yards against the Cardinals. Jared Cook is taking over as the starting tight end for the Raiders, but Walford will certainly have a role on the team—though it will probably be tough for him to be a fantasy factor.

Walford caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in Week 16.

He made the most of his two targets, with the one being for a score. Walford isn't a great fantasy option to end the regular season against Denver.

Clive Walford | Dolphins TE

Clive Walford caught only one pass for 13 yards against the Chargers.

His next opponent, the Colts, just gave up 97 yards to Kyle Rudolph, but Walford is hard to trust in fantasy.

Clive Walford | Dolphins TE

Clive Walford caught two passes for 21 yards in Thursday night's loss to the Chiefs.

He was targeted three times. As Cris Collinsworth pointed out on the broadcast, Walford was a quality route-runner at The U, but he hasn't had big production in the NFL so far. He can be dropped outside of dynasty leagues.

Clive Walford | Dolphins TE

Clive Walford caught three passes for 43 yards and one touchdown in Sunday's win.

Walford made a nice grab late in the 4th quarter in the back of the end zone. It was his first touchdown since Week 2, and his first time surpassing 31 yards since Week 2, so Walford isn't a fantasy option.
