Brandin Cooks | Saints WR

Brandin Cooks goes over 100 yards in NFC Championship win.

Cooks caught seven-of-eight targets for 107 yards against his former team, which included two big back-to-back plays at the end of the first half—a 17-yard deep curl followed by a 36-yard deep ball—to set up a Todd Gurley touchdown. If New England wins the AFC Championship against Kansas City, Cooks will have a chance at a redemption tour to close out the year against his two former teams (though his divorce with the Patriots wasn’t hostile).

Cam Newton | Free Agent QB

Cam Newton says his shoulder is “good.”

During Super Bowl week in his hometown of Atlanta, Newton spoke on 680 The Fan radio and said of his shoulder: “It’s good. It’s good. It’s better than I thought it would be. With so much going on throughout the season, I was in fear, in fear to see what actually was wrong.” The arthroscopic surgery apparently went well, as it doesn’t sound like—at least not at the moment—that Newton will need a shoulder reconstruction that would’ve likely knocked him out for all of next season. The former league MVP probably isn’t out of the woods yet, and they’ll probably take things slow throughout the offseason, but there’s should be some optimism that he’ll be ready for the start of training camp.

Zach Line | Retired FB

Zach Line gets one carry in NFC Championship Game.

Line gained four yards on his lone attempt against the Rams, picking up a first down on a fullback dive in the Saints’ loss. New Orleans’ fullback isn’t a fantasy option heading into the offseason.

Jimmy Graham | Free Agent TE

Jimmy Graham is expected to remain in Green Bay for 2019, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Graham is due a $5 million bonus on March 15, and Rapoport says the team is expected to pay it and keep him on the roster next season. Obviously, March 15 is the date to watch, as there’s almost no way the Packers would cut Graham after paying him that big bonus. Graham had a disappointing 2018 season, but perhaps he’ll be more comfortable in Year 2 with Aaron Rodgers and company if he does indeed remain on the Packers. The six-foot-seven veteran tight end still has double-digit touchdown and TE1 upside given his red-zone proficiency.

Alvin Kamara | Saints RB

Alvin Kamara catches 11 passes in NFC Championship Game against the Rams.

Kamara had eight carries for 15 yards along with 11 receptions for 96 yards in the Saints’ playoff loss. The explosive second-year running back was basically uncoverable for the entire first half, but the Rams adjusted and did a nice job of getting guys to bump him before he got out into his routes later in the game. Regardless of what happens with Mark Ingram, Kamara is going to be a first-round selection in all 2019 fantasy drafts; but the Tennessee product might have a decent case for the No. 1 overall player in fantasy if Ingram leaves and the Saints don’t add another compliment to the mix in New Orleans.

Chris Manhertz | Free Agent TE

Christ Manhertz signed a two-year contract with the Panthers.

Manhertz was set to become a free agent this offseason, but Carolina is locking him up for the next two seasons. Even if Greg Olsen retires, Manhertz probably won’t be a highly-recommended fantasy option in 2019, as he’ll be more of a real-life contributor for the Panthers.

Robert Woods | Steelers WR

Robert Woods caught six passes for 33 yards in Sunday’s win over the Saints.

Woods also rushed twice for negative-three yards. The Saints did a good job containing Jared Goff’s most reliable target, but he was able to get free for a clutch catch on the game-tying drive before Los Angeles won it in overtime, 26-23. Woods should be closer to the 80-yard mark two weeks from now in Super Bowl LIII.
