Join now >Cam Newton has undergone an arthroscopic shoulder procedure.
The Panthers say it was “successfully performed” by their team doctor, and Newton will immediately begin the rehabilitation process. Cam missed the final two games of the regular season due to a right shoulder injury, and Carolina will hope this is the only procedure needed for their franchise quarterback over the offseason. However, just based on speculation about how tricky injuries can be, it’s certainly possible Newton’s shoulder needs to be surgically repaired, which would put the 2019 season in jeopardy.

Dallas Goedert scores in Eagles’ Wild Card Round victory.
Goedert caught two passes for 20 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles’ playoff win over the Bears. The first reception was a ten-yard score on an in-breaking route, and the second reception was a nice ten-yard run on a misdirection fake screen pass where the rookie tight end broke a tackle. Goedert will be a factor in next weekend’s Divisional Round against New Orleans.

Jon Gruden says the Raiders would “love to have” Marshawn Lynch back in 2019.
Gruden is currently speaking at the Senior Bowl, as he’s coaching the North team, and he says he isn’t sure if Lynch wants to play next season but that the team would want him back. Gruden likes Lynch’s punishing running style to help set the tone for his offense, but the veteran running back is certainly no lock to be the team’s No. 1 runner if he does return in 2019. Lynch will turn 33 in April, but he’s an unrestricted free agent that would need to agree to a new deal to return to the Raiders. It’s unlikely he plays with a team other than the Raiders next season.

Josh Reynolds totals 90 yards in playoff victory.
Reynolds caught four passes for 74 yards, also adding a 16-yard rush. The No. 3 receiver in Sean McVay’s offense was particularly a factor late, making a couple clutch plays to help Los Angeles go to overtime and win it. Reynolds will look to step up again in Super Bowl LIII.

The Eagles signed tight end Will Tye to a future/reserve contract.
Tye was with the team’s practice squad during the season after he signed with it in November. The former Giants, Jets, and Patriots tight end is still just 27 years old.

Josh Bellamy catches one pass in loss to the Eagles.
It went for 34 yards on a clutch grab in the fourth quarter, but Chicago ended up falling on a last-second field goal. Bellamy enters free agency, but the Bears could certainly decide to bring him back as the No. 4 or No. 5 receiver in 2019.

The hope is that Jerick McKinnon (knee) is ready for training camp.
Niners GM John Lynch has been making the rounds at the Senior Bowl, and he told assembled San Francisco media that the hope is that McKinnon will be cleared to start training camp. The same goes for quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, but there seems to be less of a chance McKinnon gets some OTA work, which Jimmy G might get. McKinnon is basically a freak athlete, and there won’t be much concern about his knee if he’s 100% at the start of camp this summer.
