Alex Smith | Retired QB

The Redskins do not expect Alex Smith to play in 2019, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport says Washington is “planning as if they won’t have QB Alex Smith next season,” adding that the team “will be pleasantly surprised” if he is ready. Especially after Smith was seen with his leg heavily wrapped at a recent Washington Wizards game, this isn’t really a surprise. Hopefully Smith is able to recover quicker than anyone expects, but the 34-year-old looks doubtful to play in 2019. The Redskins basically must look for another quarterback this offseason, so they’ll be among the teams in the market during free agency and/or the draft.

Andre Holmes | Free Agent WR

The Broncos released Andre Holmes, according to ESPN’s Field Yates.

Holmes was claimed by Denver toward the end of last season after Buffalo cut him, but the Broncos figure to go in another direction behind the young core of Courtland Sutton and DaeSean Hamilton—along with Emmanuel Sanders, who is recovering form his torn Achilles. Holmes will turn 31 in June, and we expect he’ll draw interest during free agency.

Todd Gurley | Free Agent RB

Todd Gurley sees just five touches in NFC Championship victory.

Gurley rushed four times for ten yards and a touchdown, also adding a three-yard reception. The superstar back was significantly out-touched by C.J. Anderson (17 touches), as he was clearly less than 100%, which led to a couple key dropped passes early on, including one that was intercepted on the team’s opening drive. Hopefully the extra week of rest will have Gurley ready to roll for Super Bowl LIII against either New England or Kansas City.

Antonio Brown | Free Agent WR

A “fresh start” is the preferred outcome for Antonio Brown and the Steelers, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport says the Steelers have not given Brown and his agent permission to facilitate a trade with another team (which potentially would’ve meant agreeing to a new contract with the new team while allowing both sides to see if it’s a fit), but that he “should draw significant interest on the market.” However, Rapoport does also note that AB has not closed the door on returning to Pittsburgh and that the All-Pro receiver has still communicated with some people within the organization. It’ll probably take some healing on both sides to continue together, but the chances of Brown returning obviously increase if the Steelers don’t feel another team is willing to offer enough in a trade.

Anthony Miller | Ravens WR

Anthony Miller caught three passes for 34 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Eagles.

Miller was also at the center of a non-catch controversy at the end of the first half for another chunk gain down the seam, but what should have been a catch and fumble was held up as an incompletion because there was no clear recovery on what was originally ruled an incomplete pass. Overall, Miller scored seven times as a rookie, and the Bears should be very encouraged by what they saw out of their second-round pick. The former Memphis star should be one of the better late-round targets in fantasy drafts over the summer.

Mark Ingram | Free Agent RB

Mark Ingram gets 11 touches in Saints’ playoff loss.

Ingram carried nine times for 31 yards along with two receptions for six yards, as the Rams did a nice job of limiting New Orleans’ rushing attack aside from a 16-yard run by Ingram. Heading into the offseason, Ingram is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and the 29-year-old will be one of the more intriguing players potentially available. Ingram might be able to go elsewhere and be a clear starter, but he has a good thing going working in tandem with Alvin Kamara in New Orleans. It’ll be interesting to see how much interest Ingram gets on the open market.

Nelson Agholor | Free Agent WR

Nelson Agholor sees three targets in Divisional Round loss.

Agholor caught one pass for six yards and rushed once for 12 yards. A second-half look for Agholor could have been a deep touchdown, but Nick Foles felt pressure and threw a bullet pass (which the USC product didn’t locate) instead of bombing it behind the defense. In general, Agholor simply wasn’t featured like he should have been, and Philly should have definitely gone to him more as the offense struggled after the first quarter. The former first-round pick will likely be back for the final year of his rookie deal as the team’s No. 2 receiver next season; they need to make it a point to involve Agholor for him to return significant fantasy value.
