Peake’s lone reception against the Bears went for 14 yards. The former Clemson receiver is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Sammy Watkins explodes for over 100 yards and two touchdowns in Chiefs’ win.
Watkins had his best game as a Chief against the Broncos, as he was simply a beast all afternoon particularly after the catch. Watkins basically missed the entire first matchup with Denver because of a hamstring injury, and he showed his importance to the Kansas City offense by helping make things easier for Patrick Mahomes and the offense in this Week 8 win. The dynamic receiver caught eight passes (on nine targets) for 107 yards and two touchdowns, with both scores coming on short passes deep in the red zone, where he used his great speed to zoom into the end zone. Again, he barely played in the first game against Denver, but through eight games Watkins is on pace for a 68/906/6 line receiving along with eight carries for 100 rushing yards. He might have some quiet second-half games in a stacked offense, but Watkins should get his numbers closer to over the 1,000-receiving-yard mark in the final eight games of the season.

Chris Herndon scores again in Week 8.
Herndon caught a 16-yard touchdown on his lone reception against the Bears, making it three straight weeks with a touchdown for the rookie tight end. The Miami product isn’t yet a highly-recommended TE1 option in redraft leagues, but he remains an excellent hold in dynasty leagues.

Kareem Hunt scores in Chiefs’ win.
Hunt carried 16 times for 50 yards and added five receptions for 36 yards and a touchdown against the Broncos. The highlight of the game for Hunt was a 23-yard touchdown on a shuffle pass where the second-year running back hurdled a defender and then powered into the end zone for six. Through half the season, Hunt is on pace for 268 carries, 1,184 rushing yards, ten rushing touchdowns, 40 receptions, 524 receiving yards, and ten receiving touchdowns. Andy Reid says he can’t imagine any other running back is playing better than Hunt, who should be fed a lot in the second half of the season.

Jermaine Kearse gets ten targets in Week 8.
Kearse’s ten targets were a team-high for the Jets in their loss to Chicago, but the veteran receiver couldn’t get much going. He caught three passes for 30 yards. Kearse will look to bounce back with a bigger game next week against the Dolphins, but he could see a lot of shutdown cornerback Xavien Howard in the game.

Patrick Mahomes tosses another four touchdowns in Week 8.
Mahomes was 24/34 for 303 yards, four touchdowns, and one interception against the Broncos. This was Mahomes’ third straight four-touchdown game and his fifth of the season, which is simply amazing and shows how good this offense is. Two of Mahomes’ touchdowns were to Sammy Watkins on short red-zone passes Watkins took in to the end zone, one was to Travis Kelce on and in-breaking route in the end zone, and one was to a hurdling and bulldozing Kareem Hunt. Through eight games, Mahomes is on pace for 5,052 yards, 52 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions along with 56 carries for 240 yards and four touchdowns. With so many weapons while playing for Andy Reid, Mahomes has a legit shot to hit or exceed those marks.

Deontay Burnett leads the Jets in Week 8 receiving.
Burnett caught all four targets against the Bears, gaining 61 yards with a long of 29 yards. This comes one week after the undrafted rookie made his first NFL reception. Remember, Burnett was a trusted target of Sam Darnold in college, so the two have a strong connection already. Burnett is worth picking up or holding onto in dynasty leagues.
