Kerryon Johnson gets 14 touches against the Seahawks.

Johnson carried eight times for 22 yards and added six receptions for 69 yards in the Week 8 loss. The Lions went away from the running game in the loss, but Johnson more than doubled LeGarrette Blount’s three rushing attempts in the game. And it was good to see Johnson so heavily involved as a receiver. The second-round rookie is a solid option in fantasy lineups next week against Minnesota.

Matthew Stafford throws two touchdowns in loss to the Seahawks.

Stafford was 27/40 for 310 yards, two touchdowns, one interception, and one fumble lost along with one carry for six yards. Seattle played another excellent game defensively, and the Lions went to a pass-happy approach for much of the game. Both of Stafford’s touchdowns went to Marvin Jones Jr.—one for 39 yards after great movement in the pocket and one for 19 yards. Next week, Stafford faces the Vikings, and fantasy owners with Stafford in their lineup will have to hope it turns into a shootout.

Gus Edwards rushed twice for 12 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Panthers.

He also added a seven-yard reception. Edwards isn’t a recommended fantasy option behind Alex Collins and Javorius Allen heading into a huge game against the Steelers.

Lamar Jackson throws first career touchdown in loss to the Panthers.

Jackson, who again saw playing time as a change-of-pace quarterback with the game still close, replaced Joe Flacco when things were in hand for the final drive of the team and hit Hayden Hurst for a 26-yard score. The first-round pick finished with three carries for 26 yards on the ground, also going 4/5 for 46 yards and the touchdown through the air. Jackson will look to make an impact next Sunday in a pivotal AFC North matchup against the Steelers.

Nick Vannett catches one pass in Week 8.

Vannett’s lone reception against the Lions went for 16 yards. Vannett was targeted more (three times) than Ed Dickson (two times) in Dickson’s 2018 debut, but Dickson caught two passes for 54 yards and a touchdown. Vannett is not a fantasy option at the moment.

Alex Collins scores in loss to the Panthers.

Collins rushed 11 times for 49 yards and a touchdown, also adding two receptions for 14 yards. The score came on the game’s opening drive for 14 yards away, but Baltimore was held in check after that as they dropped to 4-4. At the midway point of the season, Collins is on pace for 196 rushes for 716 yards (3.7 YPC) and ten touchdowns with a 28/202/2 pace through the air. He will probably need to be more efficient down the stretch to return RB2 value for fantasy owners, but Collins is a worthwhile start next Sunday against a Steelers team that he scored against last month.

Doug Baldwin catches two passes in Week 8.

Baldwin gained 26 yards on his two receptions versus the Lions. The veteran receiver typically wants the ball and believes he’s open all the time, so it wouldn’t be surprising if the Seahawks make an effort to get him more involved next week against the Chargers. That said, Baldwin is just a FLEX option right now.
