Join now >Lamar Jackson scores first career touchdown as Baltimore falls to New Orleans, 24-23.
Jackson rushed three times for nine yards and a score, also completing his only pass attempt for five yards. The explosive dual-threat quarterback threw on a third down in the red zone, which was a surprise, but there should be no doubt about who the starter for Baltimore is, especially after Joe Flacco led a clutch touchdown drive that would have tied the game if not for a missed PAT by Justin Tucker. He’s going to be involved next week, but Jackson isn’t worth considering for fantasy owners.

Matt Breida battles ankle injury in Niners’ loss.
Breida hurt his ankle on his first carry of the game against the Rams, and he was then shut down later in the game. He ended up with five carries for 15 yards and one fumble lost in the Week 7 loss. There’s a chance the Niners decide to take things slow with Breida, as the second-year running back has played through a lot of pain this season and might be more effective with some rest to get him back to full strength. If Breida does play, consider him a FLEX option with risk considering he could again re-aggravate his injury. It’s worth noting he did score on a shuffle pass in his first matchup of the season against his next opponent, the Cardinals.

Joe Flacco, Ravens fall to the Saints, 24-23, on last-minute missed PAT.
Flacco was 23/39 for 279 yards, two touchdowns, and zero interceptions, also adding a four-yard rush. The highlight was a clutch 14-yard pass to John Brown at the end of a potential game-tying drive on which Flacco showed great poise, but Justin Tucker shockingly missed the first extra point of his career with just 28 seconds remaining, and the Saints held on. It was a crushing defeat for Baltimore, who now travels to face a confident Carolina team next Sunday. Flacco will have Lamar Jackson (who scored on the ground against New Orleans) taking some looks away, but he’s a quality streaming option for Week 8 as the Ravens look to get back on track.

Alfred Morris gets nine carries in Week 7.
Morris gained 25 yards on his nine attempts against the Rams. The nine carries led the team, but a lot of the work came in a blowout, and it appears the veteran running back is squarely behind Matt Breida and Raheem Mostert on the depth chart. Even if Breida (ankle) misses time, Morris will be tough to trust in fantasy lineups.

Raheem Mostert runs well again in Week 7.
With Matt Breida battling an ankle injury, Mostert received 11 touches against the Rams after his breakout performance in Week 6 against the Packers. Mostert carried seven times for 59 yards and added four receptions for 19 yards. If Breida misses time, it looks like Mostert will be the top Niners back over Alfred Morris, so he’s worth a look as a pickup if you need some help at running back. And the Niners face a bad Cardinals run defense in Week 8.

C.J. Beathard gets pressured in Week 7.
The Rams got constant pressure on Beathard, sacking him seven times and making it difficult for the offense to get anything going through the air. The second-year quarterback was 15/27 for 170 yards, one touchdown, and two interceptions, along with two carries for 13 yards and one fumble lost. The score was on a red-zone pass to college teammate George Kittle at the end of the first half. Beathard faces a struggling Cardinals team next week, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option.

Dan Arnold makes first NFL impact in win over the Ravens.
An undrafted free agent in 2017, Arnold caught two passes for 35 yards. The 23-year-old isn’t a fantasy option right now, but anyone in Sean Payton’s offense is at least worth monitoring.
