Join now >Alex Smith plays well as the Redskins get to 4-2.
Smith isn’t putting up huge numbers, but he’s doing what he did in both Kansas City and the end of his tenure in San Francisco: win games. Smith was 14/25 for 178 yards and one touchdown along with four carries for 16 yards in the Week 7 win against the Cowboys. The score was on a screen pass to Kapri Bibbs for 23 yards. He again wasn’t ultra-accurate on his throws, including a miss on a would-be touchdown throw to Jeremy Sprinkle, but Smith is avoiding mistakes and complementing a strong running game and defense. And keep in mind, Smith is down three of his top weapons, with Chris Thompson, Jamison Crowder, and Paul Richardson all out because of injuries. Smith and the Redskins face the Giants in Week 8.

Dalton Schultz catches one pass against the Redskins
Schultz gained 12 yards on his lone reception in the Week 7 loss. It was the first career reception for the fourth-round rookie tight end, so congrats to him on what will hopefully be the first of many throughout his career.

Blake Jarwin catches one pass in Week 7.
Jarwin’s lone reception against the Redskins went for 16 yards. He’s not a recommended fantasy option yet.
10/22/18 - 12:35 PM ET
Cole Beasley catches seven passes in Week 7.
Beasley gained 56 yards on his seven receptions versus the Redskins. His eight targets were the most for the Cowboys in the loss, as he continues to be Dak Prescott’s preferred target on the inside. Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo noted on the broadcast that the team is starting to use Beasley more in Jason Witten’s role as someone with a two-way go on his routes, and that could lead to some solid fantasy value. Beasley is worth a look if he’s available in your league, especially in PPR scoring.
10/22/18 - 12:34 PM ET
Hayden Hurst held without a catch in Week 7 loss.
Hurst was targeted twice, but couldn’t haul in either look. The first-round pick doesn’t need to be owned in redraft leagues on an offense that has a bunch of pieces and likes to get everyone involved. He gets the Panthers next Sunday.
10/22/18 - 12:34 PM ET
Mark Andrews scores in loss to the Ravens.
Andrews caught an eight-yard touchdown in the second half, but it was his only target of the game. Baltimore’s third-round pick isn’t a recommended fantasy option heading into a matchup with the Panthers.
10/22/18 - 12:32 PM ET
Allen Hurns catches five passes in Week 7.
Hurns gained 74 yards on his five receptions (six targets) against the Redskins, nearly matching his yardage total coming into the game. Perhaps the former Jaguar will be more consistently involved moving forward, but he won’t be a highly-recommended fantasy option when the Cowboys return from their bye to face the Titans in Week 9.
