Join now >The Colts have placed Marcus Johnson on injured reserve.
This is tough for Johnson, who just caught his first career touchdown on a 34-yard deep ball from Andrew Luck on Sunday. Johnson is dealing with an ankle injury, and the team is opting to send him to injured reserve. Perhaps Johnson will be brought back after eight weeks, but if not, his season ends with six receptions for 102 yards and a touchdown. We look forward to seeing the 2016 undrafted free agent back on the field stronger than ever.

David Johnson poorly utilized in blowout loss to the Broncos.
Johnson rushed 14 times for 39 yards, also adding three receptions (on three targets) for 31 yards. As has been the case all year, the superstar back repeatedly ran into brick walls up the middle, and it wasn’t until late in the game that we saw him finally used as a receiver out of the slot for a 17-yard gain. Unfortunately, that was the highlight of the night, and Johnson needs a coaching change more than anyone if he’s going to pay dividends for fantasy owners that drafted him in the top five—and as high as No. 1 overall—in the summer. Byron Leftwich taking over for Mike McCoy at offensive coordinator, which sounds like a legitimate possibility after the team’s recent performance, would be a major positive for DJ, who needs to be used more in space.

The Jaguars are signing Blake Bell, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.
Niles Paul is going to miss time with an MCL sprain, so the Jaguars are signing the former Oklahoma quarterback turned tight end. Bell is a big target with athleticism, but he’s not on the fantasy radar yet.

Demaryius Thomas catches five passes against the Cardinals.
Thomas gained 42 yards on his five receptions (six targets) in the Week 7 victory. Denver’s offense didn’t need to do much through the air jumping to an early lead, and Thomas did most of his damage in the earlier parts of the game. He played well, it just didn’t equate to a strong fantasy performance on a night Denver only had to complete 15 passes to win by 35 points. DT had a 4/24 line in the first matchup of the season against his next opponent, the Chiefs.

J’Mon Moore catches one pass in win over the 49ers.
It was a ten-yard reception, the first of Moore’s career. The fourth-round pick looks to be behind fellow rookies Marquez Valdes-Scantling and Equanimeous St. Brown for targets, so he is off the fantasy radar, especially with Randall Cobb (hamstring) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) both hopefully returning after the team’s Week 7 bye.

Royce Freeman scores in Broncos’ win.
Freeman punched in a goal-line score in Denver’s 45-10 rout at Arizona, carrying 13 times for 37 yards and one touchdown overall. Phillip Lindsay (14 carries, 90 yards, touchdown) received about the same amount of work, but he again delivered more yards per attempt than Freeman, which is preventing the third-rounder from becoming more of a workhorse this season. Consider Freeman a FLEX option in Week 8 against a Chiefs team he scored against a few weeks ago.

Equanimeous St. Brown makes key catch in win over the 49ers.
St. Brown caught a 19-yard pass on the final drive of the night to help set up a game-winning field goal by Mason Crosby, and it came on a nice back-shoulder grab. The Notre Dame product has flashed over the past couple weeks (89 yards against the Lions), but he is unlikely to have a significant offensive role with Randall Cobb (hamstring) and Geronimo Allison (hamstring) expected to return following the team’s Week 7 bye.
