Join now >Blaine Gabbert comes in for injured Marcus Mariota as Titans lose to the Dolphins, 27-20.
Gabbert went 11/22 for 117 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. The former first-round pick will hopefully not need to make any starts, but if he does, the Texans are an imposing matchup next week. Gabbert and the Tennessee offense would be a weekly target for streaming defenses if Mariota is out for an extended period of time.

Marquise Goodwin (quad) did not return against the Vikings.
Goodwin was officially listed as questionable to return, but he wasn’t able to come back into the Week 1 loss. This is probably nothing more than a bruise, though, so consider Goodwin questionable for Week 2 for now.

Pierre Garcon catches two passes in Niners’ loss.
Garcon gained 21 yards on his two receptions (six targets), frequently getting targeted on throws over the middle while having to contend with Minnesota’s top-notch corners. The veteran receiver has a solid role as a crosser in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, and he’ll have a better matchup in Week 2 against the Lions. He’ll offer more upside if Marquise Goodwin (groin) remains out after getting injured.

Trent Taylor catches four passes in Week 1.
Taylor worked from the slot for Niners, gaining 28 yards on his four receptions (six targets). Taylor is a good option in the slot for Jimmy Garoppolo, but he’s difficult to trust in fantasy lineups.

Kyle Juszczyk catches 56-yard pass in Week 1.
Juszczyk always has the chance to break free for a big gain in Kyle Shanahan’s offense, which is what he did against the Vikings. The Niners fullback is a key member of the Niners, but his role as a ball-carrier and receiver isn’t big enough to warrant fantasy consideration.

Dante Pettis scores in first NFL game.
Marquise Goodwin went out of the game with a quad injury, so the second-round rookie receiver was asked to step into a sizable role against a tough Vikings defense. Pettis caught two-of-five targets for 61 yards and a touchdown, with the touchdown coming on a nice catch in the back of the end zone on a dime from Jimmy Garoppolo. Pettis had a very good summer, and he’d be in FLEX consideration, particularly in deep leagues, if Goodwin remains out.

George Kittle leads Niners in Week 1 receiving.
Kittle drew a team-high nine targets from Jimmy Garoppolo, catching five passes for 90 yards. The second-year tight end had a brace on his previously-injured shoulder, but he didn’t show any limitations after missing most of the summer with the injury. Kittle could have had a bigger game if not for a couple of misses on deep balls between him and Garoppolo, including one that went off his hands. Overall, the Week 1 performance is very promising, as Garoppolo clearly likes throwing to his big tight end. Kittle is a TE1 option for Week 2 against the Lions.
