Freeman said as much after the game, but there was still concern because players can sometimes be overly optimistic. Plus, the fact that Atlanta’s starter was unable to return with the game on the line in the opener suggests that it’s more than just a minor thing that he and the Falcons won’t have to monitor. Fantasy owners should keep an eye on the practice report this week, but Tevin Coleman could handle closer to a 50-50 split of the backfield work—which was already the case in Week 1—if Freeman sees his touches scaled back against the Panthers next Sunday.

Hayden Hurst (foot) is out for Week 1.
Hurst is dealing with a multi-week foot injury, so this was just a formality. Week 2 is probably a stretch for the rookie tight end, so Nick Boyle, Maxx Williams, and Mark Andrews will hold down the position for Baltimore.

Vance McDonald (foot) is out for Week 1.
This isn’t a surprise after McDonald missed practice yesterday. It’s not a great sign that he’s already been ruled out ahead of the weekend, so just consider McDonald out indefinitely for now. The exact nature of McDonald’s injury remains unclear.

Ray-Ray McCloud (knee) has been ruled out for Week 1.
The sixth-round rookie receiver hasn’t practice all week, so this was fully expected. McCloud is off the fantasy radar for now, but hopefully he gets healthy soon. He has the ability to make an impact on both offense and special teams.

DeVanter Parker (finger) is officially doubtful for Week 1.
Parker didn’t practice all week, and the Miami Herald’s Armando Salguero previously reported that he would not play in the season opener. It would be a major shock if Parker suits up, but it’s a good sign moving forward that the team is holding out hope he can play. Parker can still be a great playmaker in Miami’s offense this season despite battling injuries and some inconsistency through three NFL seasons.

Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) is a few weeks away from returning.
Jenny Vrentas of Sports Illustrated says she asked Jeffery if his return was still a few weeks away, and he nodded. Jeffery said “Some days I feel great, and some days… a shoulder injury is pretty tough.” This is not ideal, as it sounds like the shoulder could be giving him some issues despite hope that he’d be ready for Week 1. But the good news is that Philadelphia is taking things slow with both him and Carson Wentz, so Jeffery should be 100% and ready to go when he does return to the field.

DeAndre Carter makes first career catch in win over the Falcons.
It was a ten-yard reception in the first half, as the 25-year-old was given starter snaps with Alshon Jeffery (shoulder) inactive. Carter definitely has some game and gets a cupcake matchup against Tampa Bay next week, but there are probably safer options to use in Week 2 at such a deep position.
