C.J. Beathard’s leg injury isn’t serious.

Beathard sounds like he should be good to go for Sunday against the Bears, but 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan says he’s not sure if it’ll be Beathard of Jimmy Garoppolo that starts for the team. A decision will be made by Wednesday, so the Niners aren’t going to hide who will be under center this Sunday.

Christian McCaffrey gets nine touches against the Jets.

McCaffrey carried seven times for 62 yards while adding two receptions for 35 yards in the Week 12 win. The dynamic rookie showed his excellent running ability and had a long run of 40 yards on what looked like was going to be a touchdown if not for a defender taking a good angle on McCaffrey’s cutback at the second level. Jonathan Stewart (15 carries, 26 yards, touchdown) hasn’t been as effective as McCaffrey on the ground, so the rookie could start getting more carries as the team moves towards a likely playoff appearance.

Browns head coach Hue Jackson says he has “big plans” for Josh Gordon.

Gordon will practice again with the team this week, and it’ll make a couple weeks of practice before he appears in his first game since 2014 on Sunday against the Chargers. The way Jackson is talking, along with the reports of Gordon looking excellent in practice, makes it sound like Gordon will be thrown right in there with a big role in his first game. If Gordon is available in your league, he’s a highly-reccomended pickup as a potential difference-maker down the stretch. He’s probably best left out of lineups in Week 13, though, considering Casey Hayward and the Chargers are a tough matchup.

Greg Olsen’s X-rays came back negative, according to multiple reports.

This is a great sign, as it’s not a re-break or anything that’s causing Olsen to have foot issues. Because Olsen was on the sideline with his pads on at the end of the game yesterday, it didn’t seem like it was anything overly serious. There’s speculation that this could be a scar tissue issue—something that Patriots receiver Julian Edelman dealt with last year and ended up being fine.

Jesse James caught three passes for 32 yards in Sunday’s win over the Packers.

James dropped a pass over the middle on what would have been a chunk gain, but Ben Roethlisberger went right back to him and picked up a first down on the same drive. James won’t be a recommended fantasy option against Cincinnati in Week 13.

Jermaine Kearse scores, goes over 100 yards in loss to Carolina.

Kearse caught seven passes for 105 yards, including a three-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to bring the Jets within five in an eventual 35-27 loss. The former Seahawk had taken a backseat to white-hot Robby Anderson over the past few weeks, but both were able to have a big day in Week 12. They’ll contend with Marcus Peters and newly-signed Darrelle Revis against Kansas City next Sunday.

Josh McCown tosses three touchdowns but Jets fall to 4-7.

McCown played a very good game against a tough Panthers defense, going 19/36 for 307 yards and three touchdowns along with two carries for 28 yards. However, he did lose a fumble on a sack that was returned for a touchdown by Luke Kuechly. But throughout the game, McCown used his athleticism and made great throws, including two deep touchdowns to Robby Anderson—one coming on an absolute dime to the end zone and the other coming on a scramble where McCown directed Anderson to run down the field and hit him with a perfect strike for a 54-yarder. The final touchdown for McCown was a short one to Jermaine Kearse. The veteran quarterback appears to be feeling it right now, and he’s an intriguing streaming option against the Chiefs in Week 13.
