Brissett had a nice game in a one-point loss to the Bengals, going 25/39 for 233 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, while adding a six-yard carry. The interception came on an excellent play by tall Bengals defensive end Carlos Dunlap, who jumped up and picked if off at the line of scrimmage. The first touchdown was on a nice corner throw to the end zone to tight end Jack Doyle, and the second was on a 24-yard screen pass to rookie running back Marlon Mack. It’d be a major surprise if Andrew Luck was back for Week 9, so expect Jacoby Brissett to be under center against the Texans.

Luke Stocker catches first touchdown of the season in loss to the Saints.
It was an eight-yard score in the fourth quarter, and Stocker finished with two receptions for 13 yards. A fourth-round pick by Tampa Bay in 2011, Stocker only has three receptions this season and three touchdowns in his career, so he obviously isn’t a fantasy option.

The Bears trade for WR Dontrelle Inman from the Chargers, according to Adam Schefter.
Inman is a very good player that was just stuck in a crowded receiving corps in LA with the Chargers. Last season, Inman had 58 receptions for 810 yards and four touchdowns as one of Philip Rivers’ main targets, and now he’ll look to have that type of role in Chicago with the Bears. It’s not out of the question Inman emerges as the top target for Mitchell Trubisky, and he’s worth a look in all fantasy leagues. In the extremely run-heavy offense of the Bears, Inman’s upside is limited though. It’s good to see the Bears make a move to help their rookie quarterback get more targets on the outside.

Antonio Brown caught five passes for 70 yards in Sunday’s win over the Lions.
Brown had to deal with Darius Slay all night, and it allowed JuJu Smith-Schuster to go off for nearly 200 yards. Also, he had a touchdown called back due to an offensive pass interference call where he pushed off on Slay. Through eight games, AB is on pace for 114 receptions for 1,670 yards, and six touchdowns. He’s obviously a high-end WR1 option when the Steelers return from their Week 9 bye to take on the Colts.

Matt Ryan, Falcons defeat Jets 25-20 in rainy game.
Ryan was 18/29 for 254 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also rushed six times for 17 yards. The first touchdown came on a play-action pass to Austin Hooper from the one-yard line, and the second was a a go-ahead score in the fourth quarter to Mohamed Sanu in the back of the end zone. Ryan fumbled three times and lost two of them in the elements, but at least the offense was improved compared to a week ago in New England. He should be considered a low-end QB1 heading into a Week 9 matchup with the Panthers.

Devonta Freeman (shoulder) is not on the injury report for Week 9.
Freeman was limited in practice all week, but he’s ready to go against the Panthers. The dynamic running back said he doesn’t think he’ll be limited while dealing with the injury, but expectations should perhaps be limited a bit in a difficult matchup while at less than 100%. Still, you can safely insert Freeman into fantasy lineups as an RB1/RB2 option.

DeVante Parker (ankle) is officially questionable for Thursday night.
This is an upgrade over his doubtful designation over the last two weeks, so Parker is very close if he doesn’t end up being ready for tomorrow. Expect the third-year receiver to be a game-time decision, and if active he’d be a solid fantasy option even without his starting quarterback and in a difficult matchup against the Ravens.
