Join now >Carlos Hyde contained in Week 8 loss.
Hyde rushed 12 times for 25 yards and caught four passes for 22 yards as the Niners fell 33-10 to the Eagles. He out-touched Matt Breida 16 to nine, but Breida was more efficient with his touches and scored a receiving touchdown. Still, Hyde is the clearly superior player, and he should bounce back against Arizona next Sunday. Through eight games, the 26-year-old is on pace for 906 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns with an impressive 62 catches for 368 yards through the air. The receptions and receiving yards are already a career-high.

“Two teams” have inquired about trading for Calvin Johnson, according to ESPN.
According to ESPN, the Lions told teams they can reach out to the retired receiver to see if he’d be interested in returning, but Johnson’s reaction has been “non-committal at best.” Johnson retired for a reason, and we’d expect it stays that way. It’d probably take a team and situation like the Patriots to interest Megatron enough for him to come back, but even then it’d take working out a deal with Detroit, who still own Johnson’s rights. Seeing the all-time great receiver playing on Sundays again would be great, but don’t expect it to happen. If you happen to have a good amount of roster space and don’t know what to do with it, then Johnson is probably worth a free-agent flier—but he’s certainly not someone that needs to be owned in all fantasy leagues.

Martavis Bryant reportedly went to the doctor this morning.
NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport was told by Bryant’s agent Tom Santanello that Bryant went to the doctor, which explains why he “called in sick” and missed a team meeting. Maybe Bryant is seriously sick, so we are not going to judge. But this entire situation is something to keep a close eye on.

Kenny Britt (groin/knee) is active for Week 7.
Britt, who reportedly missed curfew last week before the game against the Texans, is pretty much in the dog house and can’t be trusted in fantasy lineups at the moment.

Austin Ekeler gets three touches against New England.
Ekeler carries twice for eight yards and caught his lone target for 13 yards in the Chargers’ loss. He’ll continue spelling Melvin Gordon and chipping in on offense.

Tavarres King gets two touches against the Seahawks.
He had a one-yard reception and a -8-yard carry. King is not a fantasy option yet, though it could change at some point this season.

Cordarrelle Patterson catches three passes in Week 8.
Patterson gained only seven yards on his three receptions, as the Bills did a good job of limiting the play-maker. He did break a kick return for 43 yards in the game, though; but he did fumble one (recovered by Oakland). Patterson is being used less of a receiver this season than he was last year with the Vikings, so he’s not a fantasy option despite his great athletic ability.
