Melvin Gordon breaks long touchdown in Week 8.

Gordon came in with a foot issue, but he didn’t show it against New England, breaking an 87-yard touchdown run early in the game that he bounced to the outside and ran up the sideline when getting to the second level of the defense. For the game, Gordon had 14 carries for 132 yards and the touchdown while adding one reception for seven yards. The second-year running back is on pace for 262 carries, 1,052 rushing yards, eight rushing touchdowns, 60 receptions, 470 yards, and eight receiving touchdowns through eight games. He’s obviously been a beast over the last two seasons, and he’s showing people that he’s an all-around back that can catch—despite the inaccurate scouting reports when he was coming out of Wisconsin.Gordon will try to get closer to 100% during the team’s Week 9 bye.

Demaryius Thomas held to nine yards in blowout loss.

Thomas caught just two passes in a battle with Casey Hayward, but he was robbed of an 81-yard catch-and-run because of a questionable offensive pass interference on a slight shove that guys like Mike Evans and Dez Bryant almost always get away with. DT should be a lot better against Kansas City next Monday night, especially if Emmanuel Sanders sits again. Either way, he’s a solid WR1/WR2 option, but the offensive line needs to be better for Denver.

The Redskins waived RB Mack Brown.

Washington needed to make room for an offensive lineman because they have some injuries at that position. The Redskins have Chris Thompson, Rob Kelley, and Samaje Perine all healthy at running back now, so Brown wasn’t getting much work in the backfield. There will be other teams interested in him, and the Redskins would likely bring him back if they have a need at running back and he happens to be available.

Leonard Fournette (ankle) did not practice today.

He didn’t practice yesterday either, but there wasn’t much concern about the rookie bruiser’s status after the team said he was cleared to go in last Sunday and intimated that he’d be ready for Week 7. But two missed practices isn’t a great sign, and it looks like there is a possibility he misses this Sunday against the Colts. Fournette owners should probably pick up Chris Ivory as insurance unless you have a stacked group of running backs.

Cameron Brate leads team in receiving on Sunday.

Brate caught four passes for 64 yards in a 17-3 loss to Carolina. The 26-year-old tight end continues to be the more reliable and preferred fantasy option over O.J. Howard, and he can be in lineups as a solid option against New Orleans for Week 9.

Jordy Nelson held to one catch in Week 7 loss.

It went for 13 yards. Nelson is going to miss Aaron Rodgers perhaps more than anyone, but fantasy owner shouldn’t overreact. Green Bay will hopefully figure things out after their bye week. We’d still consider Nelson a low-end WR1 against the Lions in a couple weeks on Monday Night Football.

C.J. Prosise (ankle) is doubtful for Week 7.

Prosise didn’t practice all week, and it’d be a massive surprise if he was out there Sunday against the Texans. It’ll almost certainly be Thomas Rawls, Eddie Lacy, and J.D. McKissic in the backfield for Seattle again.
