Wendell Smallwood | Steelers RB

Wendell Smallwood (knee) questionable for Thursday night’s game against the Panthers.

Smallwood missed the Eagles’ win over the Cardinals on Sunday, and after not practicing at all this week, it’s difficult to imagine him being out there against the Panthers. Philadelphia has other capable bodies behind LeGarrette Blount, so expect Smallwood to sit again with Corey Clement and Kenjon Barner picking up complimentary touches in the backfield. All three running backs are risky fantasy plays against Carolina’s stout defense.

Jordy Nelson | Retired WR

Jordy Nelson caught six passes for 60 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Vikings.

Nelson led the team in catches and yards, but his fantasy stock took a huge hit when Aaron Rodgers went down with a broken collarbone. All fantasy options for Green Bay will be negatively impacted, but perhaps none more so than Jordy, as he and Rodgers have arguably the best chemistry in the NFL. Still, Nelson is one of the game’s elite receivers, and he remains a WR1 option, but more of a midrange or low-end one. He gets the Saints in Week 7.

Andrew Luck | Retired QB

Andrew Luck is now doing seven-on-sevens.

Luck continues to progress and take steps toward his return to game action. After this step, 11-on11s might be next, which Luck will probably need about a week of practices with before he plays. Maybe Week 7 will happen if he gets to full team practices next week, but don’t count on it with the way the Luck and the Colts are taking this.

Jarvis Landry | Free Agent WR

The NFL will meet with Jarvis Landry on October 24 regarding domestic violence allegations, according to Josina Anderson.

There were no chargers filed in the case and we thought we might hear the end of it after Landry’s girlfriend, who is at the center of this alleged dispute with Landry, said it was a “completely false story” over the summer. But the NFL still wants to talk with the fourth-year receiver about the situation. Despite no charges being filed and Landry and his girlfriend (they have a child together) apparently being on good terms, the NFL could still decide to discipline Landry if they feel it’s necessary. It’s impossible to predict what will come of this.

Michael Thomas | Free Agent WR

Michael Thomas doesn’t play well in Week 6.

Despite the Saints putting up 52 points, the offense ran more through the running game against the Lions (and the defense scored two touchdowns in the game, too). Thomas had three receptions (on six targets) for 11 yards, but he also had a pass that was basically taken away from him by Darius Slay for an interception. The second-year receiver will look to bounce back against the Packers next week.

Theo Riddick | Retired RB

Theo Riddick gets seven touches against New Orleans.

Riddick carried twice for eight yards while adding five receptions (on seven targets) for 45 yards. Ideally, he would’ve done more with his team down and throwing the ball 52 times in the game, but it was an OK day for PPR leagues. Riddick doesn’t need to be on fantasy rosters, especially with a bye this week for the Lions.
