Join now >Sammy Watkins talks about his current role in the Rams offense.
Despite only catching one pass in the last two weeks which is obviously causing frustration, Watkins sounds like he’s handling the situation well. According to the Orange County Register, Watkins “plainly” said “I don’t know” when asked if he sees his role increasing in the offense. The fourth-year receiver also added that he isn’t concerned about this being a contract year, stating that he has enough money, thinks the team is headed in the right direction, and added “I just want to be a part of it and make plays and score touchdowns.” With games against the Jaguars and Cardinals coming up, Watkins’ role might not increase over the next two weeks, but the ultra-talented receiver is a good bet to have some great games moving forward.

The Bears brought WR Tanner Gentry up from the practice squad.
Gentry, the undrafted rookie from Wyoming that had a nice connection with rookie quarterback Mitchell Trubisky during the preseason, is back on the active roster and could work himself into a nice role on game days. Because of his connection with Trubisky, he could emerge as a deep threat in an offense that’s struggled to get chunk plays down the field. Gentry isn’t a recommended fantasy pickup yet, but he’s someone to keep an eye on.

Laquon Treadwell caught three passes for 51 yards in Sunday’s win.
Treadwell saw a bigger role with Stefon Diggs (groin) inactive, and he made the most of it, with the highlight being a sensational one-handed grab along the sideline. The 2016 first-round pick should have a confidence boost after the best game of his young career, and his dynasty stock is pointing up. Treadwell can probably remain on the waiver wire in redraft leagues, but he might be worth a speculative add in deeper formats as a potential breakout lottery ticket.

Ty Montgomery handles 11 touches in his return.
Montgomery missed last week’s game with broken ribs, but it was only a one-game absence and he returned as the starter against Minnesota. The converted receiver rushed 10 times for 28 yards and caught a three-yard pass, as Aaron Jones led the backfield in touches (14) and yards (42). The good news is that Montgomery’s role as the starter should be safe, but unfortunately, Aaron Rodgers might be done for the season with a broken collarbone, and that undoubtedly drains some value from all fantasy options on the Packers. For now, consider Montgomery an RB2, but he could climb back up into the RB1 ranks if he fends off Jones and becomes a target in the short-passing game for Brett Hundley.

Eli Rogers is expected to play this week.
After a muffed punt in Week 3, Rogers hasn’t played in that last three games but it he’s expected to on Sunday against the Chiefs. Rookie JuJu Smith-Schuster has been getting most of the work in the slot and has been performing very well, but Rogers is expected to get time there, with Smith-Schuster moving outside and taking some snaps from Martavis Bryant. It’ll be interesting to see how the snaps are split up with Rogers out of the dog house, but all of Rogers, Bryant, and Smith-Schuster should probably be kept out of fantasy lineups this week against Kansas City.

The Bears released WR Deonte Thompson.
Thompson had been working as Chicago’s kick returner, so this is a slight surprise. Undrafted rookie Tanner Gentry is getting called up from the practice squad to the active roster as a corresponding move. The 28-year-old Thompson will certainly get other opportunities in the league.

Willie Snead makes 2017 debut.
After missing four games (three for suspension, one for injury), Snead played against the Lions, catching one of three targets for 11 yards. Snead could’ve had another reception for a first down, but Drew Brees threw it at his feet (there could’ve been a lack of chemistry there after Snead missed so much time, though). Snead isn’t a great FLEX option yet, but he plays Green Bay in Week 7.
