Ameer Abdullah | Free Agent RB

Ameer Abdullah gets 14 carries against the Saints.

Abdullah picked up 54 yards on his 14 attempts, including a long of 34 yards. The Saints have been playing some very good defense lately, and the Lions probably would’ve liked to have given Abdullah more opportunities on the ground but they fell behind big to New Orleans. Abdullah has a bye week next week before facing the Steelers in Week 8.

Mike Williams | Chargers WR

Mike Williams (back) is “expecting to play” this week.

The rookie receiver is very close to making his NFL debut, and there’s a good chance it’ll be this weekend against Oakland. It sounds like the team just wants to make sure he’s ready at the end of the week, but Williams seems confident. The former Clemson receiver tweeted on Monday, “Sorry for the wait” with a praying emoji. Though it could’ve been a reference to something else, we’re assuming the seventh overall pick in the draft will suit up for the first time this Sunday. Williams was limited yesterday, but we’ll keep an eye on his practice status today and tomorrow.

Marlon Mack | Free Agent RB

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano says “it’d be wise” to get Marlon Mack more involved on offense.

The rookie running back from South Florida had an excellent game in Sunday’s win over the 49ers, rushing nine times for 91 yards and a touchdown in his first game back after missing Weeks 3 and 4 with a shoulder injury. Pagano has compared Mack to Jamaal Charles over the summer, and the Colts are going to try to “find ways to get him the football.” It’s not out of the question Mack delivers FLEX value this season, and for dynasty leagues he is a superb rookie back to own as the heir apparent to veteran Frank Gore.

Brandon Coleman | Free Agent WR

Brandon Coleman catches two passes in Week 6.

Coleman was targeted four times, gaining 23 yards on his two receptions. He could’ve had a bigger day, as Drew Brees underthrew him on a shot to the end zone where he got behind the zone coverage—it would’ve been a score if Brees threw it up to the crossbar and let Coleman go up and get it. The big receiver will have some good weeks, but he’s not a recommended fantasy option.

Aaron Jones | Vikings RB

Aaron Jones splits backfield work with Ty Montgomery in Packers’ loss to the Vikings.

Montgomery started, but Jones received more carries and gained more yards, rushing 13 times for 41 yards. He also caught a one-yard pass. The rookie is going to be hurt along with the rest of the Green Bay fantasy options now that Aaron Rodgers (collarbone) could be done for the year, and the injury would probably lead to more work for Montgomery if anything, as he knows the offense better and would be more reliable for Brett Hundley. We’ll have to see if the coaches put any light on the backfield situation this week, but Jones could still be worth a look as a FLEX option against New Orleans.

Tyler Eifert | Free Agent TE

Tyler Eifert will undergo season-ending back surgery, according to Adam Schefter.

It will be Eifert’s third back surgery, and another lost season for the talented tight end. The former first-round pick just can’t stay healthy, but hopefully third time is the charm and he can finally get 100% and stay on the field. Back injuries can be very tricky, so it’s really anyone’s guess as to if/when Eifert will be back on the field, but he becomes a free agent after the season. Unfortunately, he will probably have to settle for a one-year deal. Schefter says the injury is expected to sideline him for four-to-six months, but we think there’s a chance it’s longer and lingers into the 2018 season.

Kevin Hogan | Bengals QB

Hue Jackson names Kevin Hogan as the starting quarterback for Week 6 against the Texans.

With DeShone Kizer leading the league in interceptions and turnovers, this move seemed to be coming after he was benched for the second time this year in Sunday’s loss to the Jets. Hogan has performed well in relief, and he’ll get his chance to prove something and keep the starting job for the rest of the season. The former Stanford quarterback is athletic and can run a little bit, but he’s not a fantasy option right now.
