Join now >Sammy Watkins (calf) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Indications are that Watkins, who joked that he’ll heal better in his home state of Florida to play in the Super Bowl, will be ready to go for Sunday. Still, the dynamic receiver needs to avoid any setbacks in practice after missing the first two postseason games for the Chiefs.

Demarcus Robinson has been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
Center Daniel Kilgore has also been placed on the reserve/COVID-19 list, but both are due to close contact issues, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. With Super Bowl LV less than a week away, we now have to hope this doesn’t develop into a big issue for the Chiefs.

The Lions are acquiring Jared Goff.
Matthew Stafford was expected to be dealt soon, and they’ve already agreed to a trade with the Rams to acquire Goff, two first-round picks, and a third-round pick for Stafford. Detroit could not have done any better than this, as the return is stunning with the draft picks alone, and they also get a former No. 1 overall pick that took his team to the Super Bowl two seasons ago in Goff. However, Goff is obviously going to a much worse situation while joining a rebuilding Lions club, but expect him to be motivated after the Rams dealt him away. Goff obviously showed major flashes during his time in Los Angeles, but you could feel Sean McVay and the organization were getting frustrated with him this season. This trade can and will become official at the start of the new league year on March 17.

The Rams are acquiring Matthew Stafford.
According to multiple reports, Los Angeles is sending Detroit Jared Goff, two first-round picks and a third-round pick all in exchange for Stafford, so this is a pretty shocking trade. The Rams are moving on from former No. 1 overall pick Jared Goff, who helped the team get to the Super Bowl just two seasons ago, and it’s a surprise that they also need to give up two more first-round picks and a third-rounder to get the deal done—though there was a very competitive trade market for Stafford. Los Angeles has not had a first-round selection since they took Goff in 2016, and now they’re giving up two more in an extremely aggressive move they feel can put them over the top for a championship. Stafford in Sean McVay’s offense could be very exciting.

Antonio Brown (knee) is currently listed as doubtful for Super Bowl LV.
The game status is listed as if the game would be played this Sunday, so Brown still has next week to make progress; but as of now the Buccaneers are not counting on having him in the Big Game against the Chiefs. Brown would obviously love to be able to get on the field as he looks to win a championship, but it’s likely going to take an uphill climb to get there for February 7.

The Ravens signed Nick Boyle to a two-year extension.
Boyle is now locked up with Baltimore through the 2023 season. This is good to hear after Boyle suffered a season-ending injury and landed on injured reserve, and the tight end’s recovery seems to be going well. Boyle will be an integral part of the Ravens offense in real life, but he’s not likely to be a recommended fantasy option next season.

Deshaun Watson has officially requested a trade, according to multiple reports.
Watson has apparently not talked to new general manager Nick Caserio since the former New England executive was hired, and the relationship appears to be beyond repair. Most are saying Watson controls things because of his no-trade clause allowing him to choose his destination (or more accurately, block any potential destination), but Houston would be wise to not settle for any compensation less than what they deem fair value. If the Texans are able to acquire at least multiple first-round picks and a bundle of other selections, this could turn out to be a way to accelerate the rebuild for a roster that lacks foundational pieces. The Jets and Dolphins are two teams Watson has been connected to in recent weeks.
