The 28-year-old receiver took a missed 63-yard field goal to the house as time expired in the first half. Thompson juked a few guys as he sped the entire length of the field for the score. On offense, he didn’t have any catches, but the great play on special teams should help his case for a roster spot.

Victor Bolden returns kickoff 104 yards to the house on Saturday night.
Bolden showed great vision and breakaway speed as he picked his way through tacklers and then outran everyone to the end zone. He didn’t catch a pass, but he did averaged 36 yards on five returns.

Marquise Goodwin leads team in receiving on Saturday night.
Goodwin caught three passes for 44 yards. The speedster got some hype in the offseason, and he could establish himself as a decent boom-or-bust fantasy option on a San Francisco team that is expected to be trailing a lot in 2017.

Pierre Garcon caught one pass in the Niners’ preseason loss.
It went for 11 yards. Garcon should see a lot of Vikings cornerback Xaiver Rhodes in the regular season dress rehearsal next Saturday, but it will be another good test after facing the Broncos last night. Garcon is a good value pick in fantasy drafts as the lead receiver in Kyle Shanahan’s offense.

George Kittle bulldozes his way to 29-yard touchdown.
Kittle caught three passes for 33 yards, and the touchdown connection came on a pass from college teammate C.J. Beathard, as Kittle trucked a defender and sprinted into the end zone. The rookie tight end is a name to watch in dynasty leagues, but he probably won’t have much redraft value in 2017.

Carlos Hyde rushed eight times for 26 yards in Saturday night’s preseason game.
Hyde didn’t find much room to run against Denver’s defense, and the entire offense was shutout in the first half. It’s a reminder that the 49ers probably won’t win many games in 2017, which could make Hyde—despite his talent—a frustrating own in fantasy.

Brian Hoyer was 8/11 for 89 yards and one interception against Denver on Saturday night.
It was a tough spot against the Broncos, but Hoyer couldn’t put any points on the board for San Francisco. The veteran quarterback doesn’t have that much of an easier matchup next week against Minnesota in the regular season dress rehearsal.
