Join now >Andrew Luck (shoulder) isn't throwing yet.
Luck has surgery on his shoulder in January, after playing through it for nearly two seasons. Head coach Chuck Pagano didn't offer much of an update, but the team isn't going to rush its franchise quarterback. Luck might not be ready for the start of training camp, but he should be full-go for the regular season.

The Jets are "pleased" with the way quarterback Christian Hackenberg looks so far in OTAs, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter gives credit to new Jets quarterbacks coach Jeremy Bates. There might not be a player that's ever been given up on quicker by the media than Hackenberg, considering he basically redshirted last season as a rookie and didn't play a snap. But he was a second round pick last year and has ability. It's unfair to count him out already.

The Chiefs did not ask Jeremy Maclin to take a paycut, according to Mike Garafolo.
Garafolo says the team "dabbled" in trade talks about Maclin, then released him without asking if he'd take a pay cut. The move is a little puzzling and is an indication of how things can be in the NFL and professional sports sometimes. The team saves $10 million in cap space, but this is still a very surprising move for a Super Bowl contender to make.

Odell Beckham Jr. is still not at Giants' OTAs, according to Jordan Raanan.
Raanan had reported that Beckham was expected to come to OTAs on Thursday, but it looks like that's not the case. Missing this time shouldn't affect his production numbers-wise, but it has to be concerning for the Giants in real life.

Chargers rookie receiver Mike Williams is dealing with mild disc herniation in his lower back.
The team says Williams will miss the final two weeks of offseason training. Williams is missing valuable time to get acclimated to the offense, but his health is more important. Hopefully Williams heals up and is ready to be full-go for training camp. Keenan Allen, Travis Benjamin, Tyrell Williams, and Dontrelle Inman should be considered likely to be ahead of Williams on the depth chart, but that can change when the big rookie receiver gets on the field.

Mike Williams continues to sit out Chargers' OTAs with a back injury.
Williams had back tightness last week, and he isn't recovered yet. The Chargers would like Williams back on the field so he can get acclimated to the offense and form a connection with Philip Rivers, who says Williams can catch up but is missing "valuable time." Williams will try to battle for a starting job as a rookie in a good Chargers receiving group. Either way, he'll get a good amount of playing time and should be a factor in the red zone as a rookie.

Shocker: The Chiefs have released Jeremy Maclin.
This is about as big of a surprise as you'll get this time of year. Maclin is one of the better receivers in the NFL on a contending team, but the Chiefs have decided to part ways with their number one receiver. Just two years ago, Maclin signed a five-year, $55 million contract with the Chiefs. Now Kansas City will go with dynamic second year player Tyreek Hill as their number one wide receiver, along with star tight end Travis Kelce. Maclin tweeted "crazy business this is" in a thank you to the Chiefs fans. Maclin will have little trouble finding a new team, as he should receive a ton of interest on the open market and is likely to receive a nice contract.
