Join now >Devin Smith has cleared waivers, will remain with the Jets.
Smith will spend the year on injured reserve as he rehabs from his second ACL tear in two seasons. We wish Smith well in his recovery, and hope he can have some luck swing his way starting next year.

Dennis Pitta suffered a hip injury in Ravens' OTAs, GM Ozzie Newsome announced.
This is simply terrible news, as Pitta has suffered from hip issues that he overcame, and returned to set a career-high in receptions last season. Newsome said Pitta "re-injured his hip and is undergoing tests to determine the severity." The injury was a non-contact injury, and he "couldn't put weight on his leg." It's already being called a major injury, which would be Pitta's third major hip injury in four years. Hopefully Pitta receives some good news, but it doesn't look great right now.

Danny Woodhead has "no restrictions" at Ravens' OTAs.
Woodhead tore his ACL last September, and he's seven months removed from the injury. Woodhead figures to be a big part of the Ravens' offense this season, especially on third downs. With second year back Kenneth Dixon suspended for the first four games, Woodhead should get even more work at the start of the season.

Jamaal Charles is "on track" to be ready for training camp.
Charles keeps improving and getting stronger, and today he wen through some running back drills with the team at OTAs. Charles also made clear when talking to the media today that he is determined after the Chiefs released him. He also said that he was "at the top," but injuries kept him off the field at the end of his career in Kansas City. If he stays healthy, Charles should have a big role in the Broncos offense this season.

Marcus Mariota is participating in Titans' OTAs on a limited basis.
The team is still taking it slow with their young quarterback and he's not running at full speed, but it's a good sign that Mariota is taking some snaps. Mariota said he wasn't sure he'd be able to participate in OTAs four months ago after he sustained his broken leg, so his recovery has gone better than expected. Heading into his third season, even limited work will be helpful for Mariota, who's trying to continue his ascension as one of the top quarterbacks in the league.

Jameis Winston calls rookie wide receiver Chris Godwin "an amazing young talent."
Winston said, "Man, Chris is amazing. He's an amazing young talent." This comes on the heels of head coach Dirk Koetter naming Godwin the "most consistent guy" at OTAs, saying "I'm real happy with what Chris is doing. He can play (inside) or out, either one." It is definitely notable that Godwin stands out with Mike Evans and DeSean Jackson on the same field as him, but it doesn't surprise us. What is surprising is that Godwin lasted until the 84th pick in the draft, and if early reviews are any indication, the Bucs got a steal with the Penn State wideout. We'll see how Godwin does in game action this preseason, but we like his chances of earning a role to start the year. Still, the rookie probably won't be a reliable fantasy option in 2017 with so many mouths to feed on the Tampa Bay offense.

When asked about head coach Adam Gase's desire to get Jay Ajayi 22-25 carries a game, Ajayi said, "I'm ready for it."
Ajayi broke out last season with 1,272 rushing yards on 260 carries, and the totals Gase wants would be over 1,700 yards at the same pace of 4.9 yards per carry. That would obviously make Ajayi one of fantasy football's (and the NFL's) top backs, especially in standard leagues. The Dolphins also want him to be better as a pass catcher, but they have other guys like Kenyan Drake that will eat into those snaps. Nonetheless, it will be hard to pass on Ajayi at the top of the second round in fantasy drafts.
