Join now >Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll talks up Kaepernick, but the team won't sign him at this time.
Carroll said Kaepernick is "capable of being a championship guy" and is a starter in the league, but they're not doing anything "at this time." Mike Garafolo is reporting that Kaepernick wants more money than they are offering; if true, then Kaepernick must not care that much about actually playing. It's hard to see a team signing Kaepnerick.

Chargers running back Branden Oliver is "turning heads" at OTAs.
Oliver tore his Achilles in Week 3 of the preseason last year, but by all accounts, he's looking great in his return. Quarterback Philip Rivers says you wouldn't think Oliver hasn't played since 2015 if you watched him out there. Rivers also said Oliver can be "a heck of a changeup for us." Kenjon Barner is also in the mix, but Oliver might turn out to be the primary backup behind workhorse Melvin Gordon.

Jeremy Maclin is visiting the Bills today, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter says there are plans for Maclin to visit the Ravens on Wednesday. Buffalo and Baltimore are considered the two favorites for Maclin. It's possible Maclin doesn't leave Buffalo without signing a deal, but he might want to hear what Baltimore and others have to say/offer first. Again, Maclin should find his new team this week.

Patriots and Rob Gronkowski re-structure contract that gives Gronk chance to be the highest paid tight end in the league, according to Adam Schefter.
Schefter is told by Gronkowski's agent Drew Rosenhaus about the deal. If Gronk plays 90 percent of the snaps or hits 80 receptions or 1,200 yards or being named to the All-Pro team, he'll make $10.75 million. If he plays 80 percent of the snaps or hits 70 receptions or 1,000 yards or 12 touchdowns, he'll make $8.75 million. And if he hits 60 receptions or 800 yards or 10 touchdowns, he'll make $6.75 million. This is a great deal for both sides, and if Gronkowski stays healthy there is no doubt he'll make the high-end $10.75 million (which would be the highest for a TE in NFL history and still be a bargain for the Patriots, considering Gronkowski's elite ability). Gronk will be an elite TE1 option in 2017.

Adam Schefter reports "the fear" is Pitta fractured and discloated his hip.
This would be the third time in four seasons, and Schefter says it would likely be the end of Pitta's career. This is a very unfortunate situation, and we will update you when there is more information.

Jaron Brown is participating on a limited basis in Cardinals' OTAs.
Brown suffered an ACL tear in October, and he's running at full speed now. Brown isn't participating in team drills, because the team doesn't want him to cut yet. Head coach Bruce Arians said his "computer numbers" are the fastest they've been; sometimes, players come back stronger and faster after knee injuries because of the intense rehab. The Cardinals have Larry Fitzgerald, John Brown, J.J. Nelson, and rookie Chad Williams among others in the talented receiving corps, but Jaron Brown should get a good amount of playing time—although he might not be a consistent fantasy factor this season.

Multiple reports: Jared Goff continues to look good in Rams OTAs.
Goff reportedly has been on point throughout training so far, including some great throws in practice today. Obviously OTAs are a little different than games, but Goff definitely has ability to throw the ball accurately. Despite much of the media doing it, it's very unfair to call Goff a bust after seven games. Also, because head coach Sean McVay recently said the best player is going to play and preached competition everywhere, people jumped to the conclusion that Goff might not start for Los Angeles. McVay's comments were blown out of proportion—Goff is likely to start this season. The offensive line is the big concern for the Rams.
