Join now >Titans quarterback Matt Cassel is out about six weeks with a thumb injury.
Cassel injured his thumb yesterday during OTA, but he should be back for training camp. Cassel will backup and continue to help mentor Marcus Mariota this season.

The Jaguars have placed receiver Bryan Walters on injured reserve.
Walters was a consistent option for Jacksonville when he was on the field, so they'll look for some younger receivers, like the recently-drafted Dede Westbrook, to step up.

Hue Jackson said the team might hold out Corey Coleman until training camp.
Coleman took a fall last week during OTAs, and they're being cautious by holding him out. Coleman is a potential breakout candidate in his second season, so hopefully he can be on the field and stay there for training camp.

Reggie Bush wants to continue his playing career.
Bush said he plans to play this season and that he’s “spoken to a few teams.” Bush said he “has a lot left to prove” and wants to continue playing. Bush played for Buffalo last season, but only got 19 touches. He might be waiting for an injury to open up a spot on someone’s depth chart; unfortunately, some injuries are likely to occur during camp, so Bush should get some more interest in the summer. Bush also said he’s made plenty of money—it seems like he just wants to play, which is likely the type of attitude teams want from a veteran player.

Jordan Howard is "noticeably slimmer" than last season, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
For running backs (and almost all players—skill players at least) getting slimmer seems to be a good thing and keeps them more athletic and agile. LeSean McCoy, for example, has benefited from cutting weight in the past. Naturally, lower weight makes you feel quicker because it doesn't take as much force to move. As long as Howard didn't lose strength (he said he focused on keeping his strength and power while losing the weight), this should be a positive sign. Howard also said he doesn't want to stay off the field. The Bears are expected to rely heavily on Howard this season. They added Tarik Cohen, an electric receiving back, in the draft, but Howard shouldn't have his fantasy value impacted too much as the center of the offense. Howard should maybe be downgraded in PPR leagues, but in standard leagues he should be an excellent second round pick.

Ameer Abdullah will be in a “feature role” this season for the Lions.
This has been the talk all offseason. The Lions really like Abdullah, and were planning on giving him over 200 carries last season before a foot injury ended his season in September. The good news is that Abdullah says he has been “full go” and will be for the start of OTAs this week. Abullah is looking like a lock for over 200 carries if he’s healthy this season, and with his dynamic ability (he averaged 5.6 yards per carry before he got injured last season), he could be a solid RB2 in 2017.

Redskins running back Rob Kelley says the team told him they will run the ball more this season.
The undrafted rookie from last season had a very good year, rushing 168 times for 704 yards and six touchdowns. However, the team brought in Oklahoma's all-time leading rusher, Samaje Perine, when they selected Perine in the fourth round of the 2016 draft. The Redskins rushed 379 times last season, which was sixth fewest in the NFL. We could be looking at a backfield where the Redskins give both Kelley and Perine a good amount of carries as they try to run the ball more than last season.
