Join now >The Patriots are signing Damiere Byrd, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
Byrd is a deep threat with track speed, but he was able to haul in 32 passes in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense last season. This is an interesting signing for New England, and the look of the Patriots offense post-Tom Brady will be intriguing in 2020 and moving forward.

Tom Brady is expected to sign with the Buccaneers, according to ESPN.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Jeff Darlington report “barring anything unforeseen”, Brady will be a Buccaneer—so it sounds like unless something crazy happens like a big-time mystery team swooping in before he can officially sign, Tampa Bay will pull this off. Following this morning’s shocking announcement from Brady that the six-time Super Bowl champion will leave the Patriots after 20 seasons in New England, he almost had to have his next team in mind or at least know that he has options. The veteran quarterback opts to joins Bruce Arians and a stacked set of skill position players in Tampa Bay. There didn’t appear to be a ton of interest in Brady during free agency, and the 42-year-old might feel slighted by the entire league including the former franchise he’s had unprecedented success with—don’t be shocked if he puts up major numbers in his new offense in 2020. With Brady at quarterback and a defense on the rise under coordinator Todd Bowles, the Bucs should not be taken lightly this season. Tampa Bay is getting new uniforms this offseason, and it’ll be a weird sight to see TB12 sporting them this fall.

Derek Watt is signing with the Steelers.
This is a pretty cool signing, as Watt will join his brother T.J. in Pittsburgh. Watt will lead the way for James Conner and company in the Steelers backfield, but he’s not likely to make a fantasy impact in 2020.

The Giants are re-signing Cody Core, according to NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero.
Core’s name fits a role he plays really well, as he is a core special teams player that new Giants head coach Joe Judge wanted to keep around. Core can also contribute at receiver on offense, but he’s not currently on the radar in most fantasy leagues.

The 49ers are tendering Matt Breida at a second-round level, according to Dianna Russini.
This might be somewhat surprising considering how little Breida played down the stretch last season, but San Francisco wisely doesn’t want to lose a talent like him in a backfield that could see the pecking order change in an instant. A different landing spot would be better for Breida’s fantasy value, so we’ll see what happens in the coming days/weeks.

The Cowboys are signing Jason Witten, according to Vincent Bonsignore.
Over the past three seasons, Witten has gone from the field to the broadcast booth and back to the field again, but this is perhaps the biggest surprise yet—though it was clear he wanted to continue playing in 2020 after Dallas moved on. The Raiders are obviously set at tight end with Darren Waller an established star in his prime and youngster Foster Moreau showing flashes as a rookie, but the acquisition of Witten is probably about Mike Mayock wanting to continue establishing a culture more than anything else. The lifetime Cowboy and future Hall of Fame tight end being in a new uniform will be one of a few odd sights we will see in the fall.

The Texans are acquiring David Johnson, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
This deal cannot become official until the start of the new league year on Wednesday at 4:00 PM ET, but the former First Team All-Pro running back lands in an excellent situation after losing his starting job in Arizona. The Texans have one of the league’s best supporting casts and Deshaun Watson at quarterback, and they happened to have a clear opening at running back with Carlos Hyde and Lamar Miller hitting free agency—this should be an outstanding fit for DJ. Hyde just ran for over 1,000 yards in Houston last season, and that should be around Johnson’s floor in 2019 (assuming he stays healthy), with added potential as a receiver.
