Join now >The Bills re-signed Robert Foster.
Foster is an exclusive rights free agent, so this was fully expected. The deep threat will look to carve out a more consistent role in Buffalo’s offense this season, but he’ll likely just be a flier pick toward the end of 2020 fantasy drafts.

Rhett Ellison has announced his retirement from the NFL.
Ellison played eight seasons in the NFL, spending the last three years of his career with the Giants after five seasons with the Vikings. The former fourth-round pick of Minnesota was an exceptional teammate by all accounts, and he was an excellent run blocker that helped pave the way during Adrian Peterson’s 2012 MVP campaign. As a receiver, Ellison caught 118 passes for 1,189 yards and seven touchdowns in his career. We wish the 31-year-old the best of luck moving forward post football.

The Saints are placing the first-round tender on Taysom Hill, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Saints head coach Sean Payton has talked up Hill quite a bit in the past couple of years, and he and the team are backing up that talk with the first-round tender. If another team signs Hill and New Orleans does not match the offer, they would get a first-round pick in return. The bottom line is that Hill isn’t likely to go anywhere this offseason, and the Saints sound set to use him on offense more frequently in 2020.

The Colts will not tender Marcus Johnson.
Johnson will be available for any team to sign on the open market without the Colts being able to automatically match the offer if they choose. The deep threat is just 25 and should draw a good amount of interest when free agency begins.

The Chargers signed Austin Ekeler to a new contract, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
It’s reportedly a four-year, $24.5 million contract with $15 million guaranteed for Ekeler, who was set to be a restricted free agent on March 18. Perhaps Ekeler could have gotten more if other teams were able to make offers, but this deal looks like a win-win for the team and the player. Ekeler gets $15 million guaranteed, which is quite the haul for a former undrafted player, and he also gets to hit free agency again in 2023. Meanwhile, the Chargers get an explosive offensive weapon at an excellent price for the next four seasons. We’ll see what happens with Melvin Gordon and the running back position overall for the Chargers this offseason, but Ekeler is expected to be a huge part of LA’s offense—both as a runner and receiver—in 2020.

The Niners tendered Ross Dwelley.
Dwelley is strong depth behind All-Pro George Kittle at tight end, and he’ll be back with San Francisco in 2020.

The 49ers tendered Nick Mullens.
As an exclusive rights free agent, the Niners are not going to let Nick Mullens—one of the better backup quarterbacks in the league—go. Ideally, Jimmy Garoppolo will stay healthy in 2020 so that Mullens does not hit the field, though.
