Kittle probably isn’t 100% while dealing with his ankle issue, but there is no way he’ll miss the NFC Championship. Expect Kittle to get back on the practice field tomorrow or Friday.

Adam Humphries (ankle) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Humphries is back on the practice field for the first time in over a month, and he looks to have a shot to return for the AFC Championship Game this weekend. We’ll monitor Humphries practice status throughout the week.

Allen Lazard (ankle) was officially limited in today’s practice.
Lazard is expected to be fine for Sunday’s NFC title game, and a limited practice to start the week is a good sign.

Zach Line has retired from the NFL.
Line announced his retirement in an Instagram post, which can be read in the link below. After going undrafted in 2013, Line did an excellent job of sticking around for seven seasons and retiring on his own terms after four seasons with the Vikings and three seasons with the Saints. In addition to his lead blocking and special teams contributions, Line’s career ends with 36 carries for 114 yards and two touchdowns along with 20 receptions for 161 yards and four touchdowns. We wish him the best of luck moving forward.

Larry Fitzgerald is returning for the 2020 season.
Fitzgerald did not take long to make his decision, and it’s not surprising that he will return for his 17th NFL season considering he can still play at a high level and the Cardinals appear to be a team on the rise. The future Hall of Fame receiver is likely optimistic about playing with quarterback Kyler Murray, and his presence on the team is a huge boost for Arizona. Fitz is coming off a 75-catch, 804-yard, four-touchdown season, and he should have a similar role in Kliff Kingsbury’s offense in 2020. Fitzgerald will turn 37 before the start of the regular season.

Antonio Gates has retired from the NFL.
Gates’ retirement statement can be read in the link below, but in it he states “I find it hard to officially put this statement out and retire from the game of football. I never dreamed that I would play this game of football so long or how fortunate I would be to play with just one organization.” In 16 seasons, Gates caught 955 passes for 11,841 yards and 116 touchdowns, and he will certainly have a spot in Canton in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Gates was named a First-team All-Pro three times (consecutive seasons from 2004-2006), and he was also named a member of the All-Decade Team for the 2000s. Gates says he will now help the Chargers franchise in community engagement initiatives and public facing events, and we wish him the best of luck in his post-playing life.

Chris Carson (hip) expects to be ready for the start of training camp.
Carson thankfully doesn’t need surgery on his injured hip, and he sounds optimistic about the situation given that the hip will be able to heal on its own. The former seventh-round pick is set to become an unrestricted free agent this offseason, and while we would think he will draw plenty of interest if he hits the open market, he’ll probably return to Seattle, where he’s a perfect fit. Carson has run for 1,151 yards and 1,230 yards in the past two seasons.
