Join now >Marquise Brown (ankle) is expected to return after Baltimore’s bye week.
Brown has missed the last two games with an ankle injury, but he should be ready to go after the bye week gives him more time off. If the dynamic rookie receiver is available in your league, he’s worth a look to add to your bench.

Jaguars shut down Joe Mixon the ground in Week 7.
Mixon carried ten times for just two yards against Jacksonville’s resurgent run defense, as there really wasn’t room to run for the third-year running back behind an offense line that has not played well this season. Mixon was able to score a touchdown on a two-yard reception (his lone catch of the day), but it was another disappointing fantasy performance overall for Mixon. Cincinnati’s offense has been one of the worst in the league this season, and there aren’t many opportunities for the talented Mixon to do much damage. Despite the workload potential in Zac Taylor’s offense, it looks like it’s going to be difficult for Mixon—who has single-digit fantasy points in five of seven games this season—to turn this season around for fantasy owners that invested a high selection on him this summer. We’ll see if Mixon can get it going against the Rams for a Week 8 game in London.

Christian Kirk (ankle) officially remains limited in practice.
The Cardinals continue to insist Kirk will not play until he’s 100%, which probably won’t be until he’s able to get a full practice in. Expect Kirk to remain limited in practice tomorrow, but we’ll update you if anything changes.

Marvin Jones goes off for four touchdowns in Week 7.
Jones had a tough matchup with Minnesota’s strong group of cornerbacks, but with Xavier Rhodes taking Kenny Golladay for much of the contest, Jones was a frequent target of Matthew Stafford and he delivered with ten receptions for 93 yards and four touchdowns—including a back-shoulder type of catch against Rhodes for his fourth score of the game. This is actually Jones’ second career four touchdown game, as he accomplished the feat in 2013 with the Bengals—and this performance makes him the second player in NFL history with multiple games with four-plus touchdowns, joining Jerry Rice, Sterling Sharpe, and Bob Shaw. Most fantasy owners had Jones out of Week 7 fantasy lineups, and you don’t want to chase the points by making him a must-start next week against the Giants, but it’s clearly not just the Kenny Golladay show in Detroit.

Kirk Cousins stays hot in Vikings’ win over the Lions.
Cousins was 24/34 for 337 yards and four touchdowns (to four different receivers) as the Minnesota offense dominated with a balanced offensive attack at Detroit. While Cousins did a ton of damage through the air, Dalvin Cook and the running game was also exceptional, with Cook racking up 142 yards and two touchdowns on 25 attempts. Over the past three games since the heavy criticism came his way, Cousins has thrown ten touchdowns and just one interception, and now he’ll force his former Redskins team for the first time this Thursday night in a game that could be seen as personal on both sides (though Cousins appeared to be the one that clearly did not want to play for the franchise). Keep in mind there’s a chance Cousins is without Adam Thielen (hamstring) this week.

Jacoby Brissett lights up the Texans in Colts’ Week 7 victory.
Brissett was 26/39 for 326 passing yards and four passing touchdowns while leading Indianapolis to a 30-23 win to take first-place in the AFC South. Despite the running game not working with high effectiveness against Houston, Brissett and the passing attack of Indy was able to create a number of chunk plays with play-action passes down the field. Brissett looked extremely confident and threw the ball with power and accuracy throughout the game. Brissett is now averaging 19.1 fantasy points per game this season, and his only time being held below 16.3 points was in Week 5 at Arrowhead. Those streaming quarterbacks should undoubtedly take a look at picking up Brissett and keeping him in the lineup most weeks. He’ll face the Broncos in Week 8 before a tough matchup at Pittsburgh in Week 9.

Adrian Peterson gets another heavy workload in Week 7.
Peterson carried 20 times for 81 yards against the Niners, but he did have a fumble in the Redskins’ 9-0 loss in rainy and muddy conditions. The takeaway is that Peterson is the clear foundation of the Redskins offense under interim head coach Bill Callahan, as the team believes that’s the best chance to win some games. Expect Peterson to keep getting at or near 20+ carries per game throughout the rest of the season, including this Thursday night against his former Vikings team. AD should probably be owned in all fantasy leagues.
